  • Not so much about the app but the formula 1 itself

The app is fine it lets you see the results or watch it live (with a fee), my problem is that the racing itself isn’t good anymore. After I got a notification following my prediction for the 3rd time since I got this app for the race I can’t stand it anymore, the races are predictable unless there is a Mother Nature issue such as the heat in Austria then it’s gonna be a Mercedes 1-2 or a Hamilton win and the gaps are too far apart come on 20+ seconds from second place... Also sorry to beat a dead horse but the V6 Hybrid has to go, it isn’t exciting to watch vacuums struggle around a track, I’ll be fine with the V6 Hybrid if they made it sound good like the V10’s, V12’s, and V8’s before it but it just sounds like a muffled mower and the engines are too complicated. The whole purpose of the V6 Hybrid was to be economical (which is not a smart idea in its own right) and close to road cars or at least able to trickle down to road cars in the future but the engines are far too complicated for that to happen and far too expensive to develop and it’s also keeping interested manufacturers out which is killing the sport especially since the rules are geared towards the manufacture teams and not the privateer teams which is one reason why Williams fell so far down. I’m fine with the economical part (even though again it is a ridiculous idea for a RACING car) but get rid of the tire management and fuel saving, let the drivers go all out so we can see closer racing and drivers on the limit of the car instead of coasting to save fuel or backing off so their car can cool down. Also I would get rid of the V6 and at least go back to V8 or preferably V10/V12, can be a hybrid as well just make it sound good and also allow sideskirts to make the cars faster without having to increase the front wing much at all so the racing should be closer. All modern cars have some sort of active suspension and active aerodynamics so why can’t the F1 cars have it, the active aero would be tricky to get in the rule book but active suspension should be in there no doubt. Current F1 cars share no resemblance to any road cars tech, the MGU-H from this era is too expensive and complicated to be in road cars for example, but active suspension and active aerodynamics are on virtually every supercar and a lot of road cars. Why not further this technology in F1 and improve road cars rather than pandering to a eco audience that doesn’t even watch the sport. All in all I love F1 but I can also see why it’s not as popular as it used to be. Politics, poor rules, and boring races are killing the sport and the fans wants that to change. Thanks for reading.

  • F1 has became me too predictable and boring

An app can only be as good as the subject matter in it. F1 has become utterly predictable and therefore boring, and the app reflects that seriously diminished status. I will not renew any F1-related subscription or continue using an F1-related app until some meaningful level of competition returns to the sport.

This app is crisp, clean, and regularly updated.
  • Widget does not work // too hard to see results

Widget shows season ended between races. Finding results of races or qualifying is far too hard. Have to click 5 menus deep to get the information.
  • Watch out for spoilers

The app does what it needs to do in a satisfactory manner. It tells me the standings and quick little snippets of news. The big problem is the dumb thing just spoiled who won the last race before I can catch the replay in a few hours. TURN OFF notifications on this app with out fail!
  • Ads for a paid app????

I don’t expect to be hit with ads for a app with a annual subscription. News section is no better than ESPN. Get some exclusive content!

This app is great when it works! Works about 50%. I have to Re download, and re establish subscriptions before it will work on my xs max.
