  • The answer to all your reddit needs

Best reddit app ever made. Responsive dev. Major part of the reddit community don’t know what we would do without him.
  • Better than Official App

In my opinion the user interface and features of this app outshine the official reddit app.
  • Honestly don’t see what the fuss is about.

Everyone says to download this app for Reddit, and after trying it I don’t see anywhere where it has an advantage over the standard app. The visual language is cluttered, there’s little differentiation between headlines and content. I accidentally swipe and do actions because there’s no visual language to learn swiping does things, subscribing to subs is hidden behind a hamburger menu, and you need to tip to post. I appreciate what this developer is trying to do, and I’m sure it works for some people, but boy does it feel not worth the hype.
  • Issues with saving gifs, videos and pictures and lots of crashes

Can’t save or share around 80% of gifs, videos, or pictures. I would just share the post, but I have several individuals that don’t use Reddit or when they do click the link I share, it doesn’t work and doesn’t direct them to Reddit at all. Additionally, the app can crash as often as every 15 minutes and has serious issues with going from portrait to landscape mode randomly and wildly, even if I have orientation lock on. While browsing, if I switch to another app (such as photos to see if the content I’ve tried to save six times really did save), Apollo completely resets and I’m back to scrolling away to figure out where I left off. I’ve also noticed that my home feed almost never refreshes and I’ll see the exact same line up for days. Switching to all, I find several of my subreddits included in my home section with new and highly rated posts that never show up in home. I’d love to move on from the free version to donating regularly, but at this point I have to have both Apollo and official Reddit app in order to access all the Apollo free features. I very much enjoy no ads, which I think is one of the only reasons I haven’t given up on Apollo yet. I appreciate all of the hard work you put into this, Christian, I really do. Thank you.

    The only way to Reddit!
  • MUST PAY TO POST

Yea I’m not gonna give this app money so I can post on a psychological help subreddit.
  • Far from the best Reddit experience I’ve ever had

The app is ok. It’s functional and has a lot of tools. But one thing that’s ridiculous is not being able to make posts without buying the premium version. That’s a free feature of reddit and I’m pretty sure I’ve never run into that on any other app.
  • Copy/paste broken

Seems the recent version breaks any text/edit menu actions, including pasting. Really neat. Of course I would use the bug report option in the app, but then that is it’s own BS requiring me to login to GitHub to report issues on an app I don’t care to be tied to my GitHub identity.
  • Excellent Reddit Client! ALMOST PERFECT (please read)

I’ve been using Apollo for 2-3 years now and it’s great. Mr. Selig has been amazing with updates and receiving feedback. The app is fast and easy to use. BUT, I still feel the app could become the BEST reddit client with just a few more outside the box, intuitive, functions. My thing would be to navigate your ‘Saved’ tab, like by date, relevance, top, etc. Even do it with your upvoted stuff. That’s the kinda thing I’m talking about. I also think you should be able to scroll left and right thru fullscreened post. Like you do on Imgur albums. Oh and sound on those new gif formats like gyfcat or whatever. Great app for Reddit, regardless. Keep up the good work Christian.
  • Great app, every tweak has improved it so far

It’s rare for an app not to accidentally go backwards at some point but Apollo keeps consistently getting better with every update. All that’s left for me right now is for the link formatting button to work like it does on the website. It should, with highlighted text and a link in the clipboard, replace the text with the []() format filling the [] with the text and the () with the URL.
