Just tried the apps on some plants in my garden that I know and the app always failed, except twice.... not useful and even dangerous... it even claims, that my tomato plants are poisoness ivy.... for me just a waste of money....

  • Great.

    Identifiziert sogar Exoten und Raritäten.
  • It does work...if you have some common knowledge about plants

It does work better than I would have hoped. However, it has some problems with telling the differences within the species. So it’s quiet good if you have a fair idea of what you want to identify and how possible it is, that one of the given answers actually grow where you are right now. I tested it on two extended walks and took pictures of very common plants (oak, elder, beech, clover, dandelion, daisies, willows monkhood) and a few less common plants (laburnum) and it was quite accurate about the species in most cases - I was able to determined the actual plant by scrolling through the possible matches (because I do have the background knowledge or was able to use google to get more pictures). Just one was a total mismatch: It mistook the leaves of the monkhood for cannabis plants , which is quite a far stretch. However, it was a perfect match on second try...so it might have been a bad photo.
