  • Three devices limit...

    By vak1
Free version of Dropbox recently notified me that at this time it will allow me only three linked devices. I briefly considered upgrading (my wife already has separate subscription) but then noticed that on top of everything PC version shows me blank screen when I try to signup - there is some long standing bug that I see people complaining about online for a while and I am affected with to. Reason I used this service was because it was set it and forget it. It was a little bit more robust then OneDrive/iCloud and more users and apps used it. But few days ago I learned that to get back what used to work (free sync of few GB between all my machines) I need to pay substantial price (and very expensive price per GB I plan to use). And then spend non-trivial time to solve some long standing problem and get software working. Instead of trying to solve that problem and then pay money for subscription, I plan to check different options and migrate away altogether from Dropbox. Especially after I have seen how subscription price for two people compare to the price of good NAS.
  • Dropbox Plus

Update: Thanks, Dropbox Team, for the added storage capabilities. I notice your other recent improvements are mainly geared toward teams and other social-sharing groups, so they are unnecessary for me. However, I absolutely LOVE the added storage space (for $20 extra) and will never abandon you now! Only features lacking are: ability to store 1) animated gifs; 2) Live Photo’s; and 3) modified/edited photos. For those I have Apple iCloud (setting me back another $99/yearly). Fix those items and it’s 5 stars!
  • Great App but very unstable after update

    By KJP2U
I’m having the same issue as Dudebraj9000. I have an iPhone 8 and have been using Dropbox for years. I agree that the updates have had no added value other than adding additional steps. When I’m uploading photos, I can no longer scroll down to see which photos are uploading. It jumps back to the top. Also, when I go to a photo album from Dropbox to upload photos, it will jump to photos from 2017 or 2018 unless I scroll real slow. Also, if I “move” photos from one folder to another, it now leaves me at the folder the photos got moved to instead of the folder I was working on... really annoying. I believe that if I “copy” photos from one folder to another, it will put me back to the folder I was working on, which is the way it has always been. Lastly, I had disconnected any auto uploads or syncing to Dropbox from the start, yet there is an album again called Dropbox with photos sitting in it... some very old photos. So I don’t know if those photos were uploaded or not. I have never auto synced my photos with Dropbox because I like having control of it. I gave you 5 stars because I use Dropbox every day and I trust that you will fix these issues. Overall, it has been fantastic, but more so in the older versions.
  • Bugged unlinking

    By Brandon Schmeidler
I can only link three devices with a free account. That’s fair. What isn’t fair is not being able to unlink devices because it, for some unknown reason, requires you to unlink at least TWENTY FOUR devices. Yes you read that correctly. No way this is intended. Please fix this immediately.
  • Keeps crashing

    By Tandttravis
I have this on my iPad Pro 11 and every time I open a file it crashes ! I’ve removed it and reloaded it, but it continues
  • It won’t let me export my files.

    By rhondahs
Basically, I intended to use Dropbox to download music and export them into different apps, but it won’t allow me to export it to other apps or create a shareable link. Is this supposed to happen or...? Would appreciate some help.

Sad to say, Dropbox now belongs in the trash heap. The new “features” are useless and the prices are usurious compared to OneDrive, Google, and Sync.com. I’m moving to OneDrive when my subscription expires. Dropbox: a great idea, ruined by mediocre people.
  • Why no reasonable file structure? No easy way back up the file tree?

    By rionz44
For three decades workers have used a filing system that made sense. You can see all of you folders and when you press back it means you will actually go back up the folder tree. For DropBox to ditch that is extremely bad design. In addition, if you receive links to files you’ll need to actively save the files to your own folders or risk losing track of it forever. It seems that for many years user interface has been refined but for some strange reasons dominant companies are throwing the established rules and logic away. For what, I’m not sure. My use case is not unique and I think if Dropbox designers actually used the app they would drastically change the workflow.
