Offroad Trail Guide App Description

Find Trails and OHV Parks for 4WD vehicles, ATV/UTV, Adv Motorcycles and more. This is a crowd sourced platform which allows you to add trails, photos, ratings, leave reviews, and more. With this App you can plan your trips faster, know what to expect before leaving, and see exactly where you are while on the trail. Free Features: - Browse our database of over 1000+ Offroad Trails and 150,000+ miles of Forest Service roads meant for high clearance vehicles WITHOUT needing to transfer any GPS files to your device - OFFLINE (No Internet Connection) maps are supported with 3 simple clicks - Record and save your own trails and waypoints, share with friends - Find nearby campsites and gas stations - Use our website to plan your adventure, map a new trail, add waypoints. The App will automatically sync this data and you are good to go. (Use the same login between App and Website) FREE vs SUBSCRIPTION: You can find new places to ride for free. All USFS roads and OHV Park maps are also free. The Official Trails that we have (the ones with pictures, reviews, etc) will be visible on the map until you reach the more detailed zoom levels. To unlock these trails, so you can see exactly where you are located while on the trail, is $9.99 per year and it will automatically renew each year unless you cancel prior. Your subscription also helps to fund new features to make your offroad trip planning better. Crowd Sourcing - You can add trails too! Know your area pretty well? You can contribute from within the App. Click on existing trails to add crucial details to help others with their planning process (Description, Duration, Difficulty, Pictures, etc). If we don't have the trail already, use the in-app Recording Trail features to record your GPS tracks and submit them to us. Trail Legality: We approve each submitted trail to ensure legality to the best of our knowledge. We need volunteers for each State to help us with this. Please reach out on our website to volunteer. *** DISCLAIMER: Offroad Trail Guide takes offroad adventuring and overlanding seriously. Please acquaint yourself with TreadLightly principals so our children's children will be able to explore the way we do today. Use of this app to discover and abuse trails is strictly prohibited. Offroad Trail Guide App Reviews

  • Only 4 locations across the USA lol

    By TheGrayBush
4 locations total across the US. As soon as I tried to zoom in the trail disappeared and asked me to pay $10 to view at this zoom 😂
  • No trails in Virginia

    By Whatapain65
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but it’s only showing a few (<10) trails in the whole US. I tried zooming in closer and no trails are showing. I went to an area I know has National Forest trails and nothing was showing. Tried various filter combos and still nothing in my area. When I say my area I mean all of Virginia and I know of many trails. Concept is great, but if crowdsourced you should start with something so that a crowd starts to use it. The Forest service has maps. Maybe start with those so we don’t have to use PDFs. I’d use this app if it did at least that and then I’d contribute when I found others. As it stands, it’s useless and not worth the effort. If someone tells me I’m doing something wrong I would be happy to change my rating.
  • Incredible

This has so much potential, I’ve downloaded dozens of Apps before finding this. It is the only one that comes already loaded with all the trails without having to download GPX files and add comments. Previously using Gaia, I’m now wanting to contribute to ratings, comments, and pictures for this, in order to improve it. Recommended by overland expo, I’m really impressed, everyone off roading should download this. All it needs is a search button and more people to contribute to trail ratings !
  • Paid Sub - full of bugs

    By jwolee
Among many other glitches, I cannot get my saved trails to show on the map. On/off toggle always reverts to off.
  • Unable to access offline

    By AaronFPeet
After downloading offline content, I'm unable to access it after closing the ap. It still shows the downloaded map, but won't open it. I regret spending money on the subscription.
  • Waste of time

  • Good concept, needs refinement.

Love that someone has put together an app for off road like this. It has potential to be really useful, but needs some work. Overall the interface concept is good, keep working on it!! 1. On iPhone 6, I can't get trail summaries to dismiss consistently and go back to full map. 2. If I'm going to pay for an app annually, I expect a fair amount of preloaded content. There are apps out there already doing this. The ability to contribute is nice, perhaps you should offer a discounted rate to contributors? Colorado is a hotbed of four wheeling and many of the trails have no info- get users to fill it in by giving them full access so they buy in to it and support it. 3. Once I zoom to the paid level, it locks me out and I then have to zoom/unzoom in one swipe to get it to zoom out. Glitchy. I will raise my rating appropriately if I see improvements.
  • Best App To Date!

    By Pyrobeast
The more you use it the better it gets. Simple to use and more interactive than other nav tools. There are more than plenty of trails to choose from as well as the option to chart your own. Tread lightly, and this app will be your best friend.
  • Awesome features

I'm really impressed with the features this app has to offer. Along with the functionality for the trails itself I found the campsites feature to be very cool. Highly recommend this app!
  • Has Potential, but isn't reliable yet.

    By SpairD-7
1st, the dev. made the common features easily accessible through icons on the edges of the main screen and arranged the menus simply but compactly. Information about the trails listed so far are fairly precise: a difficulty rating and the distance of the trail are given for some of them. I didn't want to try the recording feature because of the frequent crashing; but, I suspect this is largely my old IPad 2's fault, seeing as my device crashes frequently when trying to load linked web pages. I give this app. 2 stars because the crashing might be my device's fault, the neat arrangement, and few trails are listed (it's a new app.)
