Microsoft Office Lens|PDF Scan App Description

Office Lens trims, enhances and makes pictures of whiteboards and documents readable. Office Lens can convert images to editable Word and PowerPoint files too. Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket. Like magic, it will digitize notes on whiteboards or blackboards. Always find important documents or business cards. Sketch your ideas and snap a picture for later. Don't lose receipts or stray sticky notes again! Scenarios: - Capture and crop a picture of a whiteboard or blackboard and share your meeting notes with co-workers. - Make digital copies of your printed documents, business cards or posters and trim them precisely. - Printed and handwritten text will be automatically recognized (using OCR), so you can search for words in images and then copy and edit them. Features: - With Whiteboard mode, Office Lens trims and cleans up glare and shadows. - With Document mode, Office Lens trims and colors images perfectly. - Pictures can be saved to OneNote, OneDrive or other cloud storage. - Business Card mode can extract contact information and save it into your address book and OneNote. This feature works best with the following business cards: English, German, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. Support for more languages is coming soon. - Choose to convert images to Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF (.pdf) files that are automatically saved to OneDrive.

  • Love this app - but....

Great app, simply works... If the developers are listening, here is my wish list to move this app from 4 stars to 5 : (1)IOS Camera integration (2) Output (file type) options. Not everything is compatable with PDF. If I want JPG I have to shoot whiteboard mode, but then it seams to loose formate sizing (letter, legal, tabloid) (3) watermarks. Would love to be able to watermark it as a copy and maybe ad my logo.

works fine. But when save as image to nextcloud, the filename is with colon, which is not supported in Windows. As a result, the file cannot be syncd to my laptop. Hope the default filename can be changed.

This was, even a few weeks ago, a reasonably good app. I think it was recently updated a couple times, and now it is garbage. It is crashing constantly. It’s also struggling to identify pages (I think it used to be better at this). I hope they fix it, but until then it’s pretty awful.
  • Horrible

Must be Microsoft people who like it but this is horrible. I copied a few pages with my iPhone, selected word doc, had to create a login then it said done. Where the hell is it?

App cannot even run for a minute. It’s keep crashing while you’re trying to take a picture or upload it. IOS 12.3.1. iPhone XS Max 256GB. Used with office 365 subscription. It takes 1 second to crash right after the application is launched.

This app and OneDrive can’t save files to sharepoint!!! Why???!!! Cannot control image size either.
  • Text box option disappearing

This app used to be fine for my use case, which is taking pictures, annotating them, and then saving them directly to OneDrive. However, recently the app has eliminated the option to add a text box to an image. Now, the only option to mark up an image is the freehand pencil. Not great when trying to annotate my pictures. Which I do for literally every picture I take for my job. Now I have to find a new (not business approved) app and then transfer the pictures to OneDrive later. Thanks Microsoft.
  • No se puede escribir en la diapositiva como antes

Por qué motivo ahora no figura la opción de agregar un texto sobre la diapositiva? A mi me servía para captar la imagen y poder hacer reseñas sobre la misma en clases? Se puede volver a escribir?
  • Where did the text option go

Good morning Our corporation was using this app for in the field inspections with the ability to use the text option to add critical details to the photos or pdf creations. Now that the feature is gone the app is not useful as it is. Can we please have the feature text added back apart of the app and it will get 5 stars from me. Christian

Please bring back the ability to change filter type after the picture is taken. It was mysteriously removed after an update a while ago. Edit: The feature is still not present. I am using a 9.7” iPad Pro, iOS 12.3.1, running OfficeLens v. 2.25.
