Carista OBD2 App Reviews

  • works fine at diagnostics for older car but

    By geminifab
The app works fine when I want to diagnose check engine light codes on my 10 year old Hyundai - I wish it would keep a record of the recent history of thrown codes, if it has this feature I couldn't find it. Would be helpful to have that information stored to show a history of issues to the mechanic.

Where to start? It’s difficult to just check the app without having to think in the rest of the things involved in the app itself. The idea of having a obd2 in a smartphone is fantastic “idea” you know! to have a multi-tool handy in the reach of your pocket and all. However for several years now, developers use enthusiast people, and professionals technicians feedback to develop functional app’s. In this particular case, which at the beginning was a win-win situation for developers and customers, where many bugs were solved and new ideas brought forward however, as soon as developers had a stable version they forgot about the enthusiastic average person or the professional technicians and money comes first. This monthly subscription has been rude towards all of us that make this app possible. We the people! We never forget and the same way we help to build empires like Sears. We can choose not to be part of it anymore! Different alternatives coexist. A real Vag Scanner such as the VS450 will do most of the things this app offer for $30 US Dollar easily found In the amazing Amazon. So again what is the purpose of an app?

Most apps that a free connect faster than this app to your cars computer.but it does offer some features that are not Offered in other apps I wish you guys had more options for lexus /Toyota models 2015+ to bleed brakes check abs and other diagnostics . Other than that it’s a good app but definitely needs improvement
  • Useless

Useless very slow app, not worth the money!
  • Unbelievable customer service

This is the first review I’ve ever written in here but I need to tell everyone how incredible they are here at Carista. I have been using their app since it came out and it really works well. I recently emailed them asking if they can add a customization that I wanted. I wanted to be able to add the ability to add paddle shifters to my Audi A7. They created a beta version with that in it and sent it to me in less then a week to try. It worked great. They followed up with me to see if I was happy. Now that’s customer service. Thanks guys.
  • In App Purchase info incorrect

The app description in the App Store says there is a 2week Pass option for $9.99 after free trial expires. I only see 1year subscriptions for $39.99. Where is the 2 week Pass?
  • Missing Many Options

    By mwc9026
It used to be a good app for my 2006 VW Passat but when I got my 2013 VW CC and was excited to get my remote window features and maybe more I was so disappointed. Not much in this app anymore especially not for the annual fee that I’ve been paying!
  • Saved me a trip to the dealer

    By PhilipSVT
This app is great! I was able to diagnose and make a repair on my car that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. A couple of other apps completely missed the fault code. That, paired with the ability to change dealer-only settings in the car makes this app a winner in my book. The only catch is that you’ll need to do a bit of research to make sure the app will work with your vehicle. If it does, you can’t beat this app and ODB2 adapter for the price!
  • I was hoping for a little more

    By Drew_music
To be 100% honest I was thinking that this is going to be a little more of a customizability as well as the diagnostics, and while it does both amazingly well, I just kind of felt like it fell a little short when it comes to customizing. I have a 2013 CC, And I’d say probably 75-85% of the options were available In one of the many menus on the dashboard, And now I know this isn’t the case with some cars, but I sort of felt that they’re needed to be more to justify a $40 a year price tag on-going
