As an Independent, I have been reading The Washington Post for sometime now because it offered a nice mix of the news. Although the writing remains very good, the writer’s left-leaning politics are beginning to show in the articles. Sadly, this great publication is fast becoming just another Democratic leftist publication. There are many to choose from.

Not only do I love the Washington Post’s reporting and coverage, they have perhaps the best app for reading the news of any newspaper or magazine I’ve tried or used. Wish the media would use them and this app as a template!
  • Great articles

The opinions, articles and information is top class. I really enjoy the newspaper.
  • Wash Post Classic app is much better then this

As a new digital subscriber I gave this app a try first but this is “curated content” and provides only partial access to the articles one is paying for— I say this because the only way to find the “buried” articles is to use the app’s mediocre search functionality, which doesn’t surface the most recent articles first. So when I input “Capital Weather Gang” which I am sure a lot of people search for often (and subscribe for), I not only was unable to find their main page, but I could tell that results weren’t sorting from newest to oldest, and there was no way for me to toggle that option. There is also no way for me to browse on topic tabs the way I can on other newspaper apps. I deleted this app immediately and downloaded Washington Post Classic, which works perfectly, but I wanted to come back and leave this review for fellow subscribers to the WP. The pretty images aren’t worth it, in my opinion, if you want fast access to the most recent news on topics you want to select rather then “wild cards” that a digital strategist thinks will interest you.

Frequently states that I cannot read anymore articles this month. When I attempt to log in, its doesn’t allow me to. I’m going to cancel my subscription as the Post obviously has not mastered the digital revolution.

I know in the grand scheme of things supporting the Washington Post is a small thing to do. But it takes lots of small, good choices to overcome the stupidity being displayed by our politicians. Now, more than ever we need to support people who are committed to openness and shining a light on deeds that others want hidden.
  • User interface is great across all formats

On the Apple Watch, I really like the vertical scrolling full-screen title overlaid on photo (no wasted space) and the ability to tap to read an excerpt. Also enjoy this app on iPhone and Apple TV. I’m a Washington Post subscriber and am grateful they continue to provide expert honest reporting.
  • Not A free App

If you’re going to have a free app, have a free app. This is BS. I understand that good journalism costs money, so just be up front about the cost. If you download this app all you can do is read some arbitrary headlines.

First time reviewer of any product. I will give up all other subscriptions before the WP.
