Michael Bastian Chronowing App Description

The Michael Bastian Chronowing blends precision craftsmanship and classic Michael Bastian design with HP's advanced engineering, delivering a new breed of watch for today’s man. This is the first-ever smartwatch by award-winning Menswear designer Michael Bastian that allows you to stay connected to the cloud and receive a broad array of updates and notifications. The long battery life (lasting up to 7 days) and water resistance (up to 5 atmospheres) make the Chronowing the perfect smartwatch for any lifestyle. Using the Michael Bastian Chronowing app, exclusively designed for this timepiece, allows you to customize the notifications and alerts you receive on your wrist. By simply pairing the Chronowing with your phone or tablet via Bluetooth, you can: • Quickly check time, date, weather, stocks, and sports scores • Stay up-to-date with calendar and appointment reminders • Receive email and social media notifications • Read text messages • Control music playback on your connected device To use this app, you’ll need a Michael Bastian Chronowing smartwatch and a device running IOS 7.0 or above. The app uses location services to keep weather and local time information up to date on the smartwatch, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Michael Bastian Chronowing App Reviews

  • App & watch aren't working

    By Woodstrom
Can't add stocks and can't view weather anymore. Update the app and firmware please! It's a "smart" paperweight now.
  • HP not committed to this watch

    By uroute66
I love the look of this watch especially when compared to other smart watches out there. But HP is clearly not committed to this product because: 1.) App functionality is a joke. Only limited data pushed to watch in all info categories offered, i.e. stocks. weather, etc. You can only pick 4 things for each category. 2.) App/watch connection drains phone battery big time. I will typically send updates to watch in morning and then disconnect it. So it's not really an effective smart watch. 3.) No app updates since 2015???? 4.) Weather and stock functionality has stopped working w no explanation from HP. When you try to search on app to add weather or stocks, it just says temporarily unavailable. I even tried resetting watch and reinstalling app with same outcome. For whatever reason, HP has demonstrated little to no interest in supporting their product (Did they have a falling out with Michael Bastian?). This product is an overpriced watch with little smart watch functionality.
  • Improve app

    By Max07sbmw
Watch is a great statement piece for wrist and multiple bands allow to be worn on most events. App is severely lacking and the minimal functional use of app to watch needs some serious improvement watch spends most of time on charger instead of on my wrist due to lack of support and function of app
  • Software letdown

    By KidKali
I wanted so badly to be impressed by this watch! The hardware is spot on, but the software completely ruins anything positive about it. This app is a complete joke. There is so much lacking and needed improvements that haven't been fixed after a year- that it's not even worth mentioning because clearly it's falling on deaf ears. The watch itself is beautiful and stands alone among several other ugly smartwatches. But the functionality absolutely holds it back- making it almost useless. Please make improvements to the app/OS!!!
  • Needs Work

    By crazyconnution
The watch itself is fantastic. The style and functionality is spot on...for the most part. I really enjoy getting my alerts for messages, anything with Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter right to my watch. Also, it's great to see the weather and stocks at a click of a watch button. BUT!! The big selling point for me was the sports updates and the email alerts as well. That apparently is something that doesn't even work right now. After the update the functionality of adding teams was added, but updates just don't seem to happen for me. I'm trying to find out how my Yankees are doing and nothing shows up. In fact, it says there is no game when I know they really are playing. Also, why no NHL? I know the season just ended but what the heck!? ALSO, when pairing the app to the watch it zaps your phone battery instantly. My phone was fully charged at around 12pm and by 4pm it was down to 10%. Typically a full charge lasts me a day or more. To wrap up the review, this app and the watch does not do as advertised in delivering all the alerts it's supposed to. The app takes the fully charged phone battery you have and says "you don't need that" and takes it all away in a matter of 4 hrs. Finally, the pairing tends to switch on and off and you need to forget the device and re-pair it again relatively constantly. I'm sticking with the product in the hope that some updates will happen and I really like the idea of it and what it can POTENTIALLY do. You can't just drop something when it doesn't work on the first go. I think we would all not have iPhones at that point. Here's to hoping that they put some extra work into it.
  • Simple App, but need lost phone function

    By ram54csu
Love the looks of this watch. Simple to use and setup on my new watch. However, would like to see a lost phone function to either alert you that are leaving it behind or to help you find a misplaced phone.
  • Poor functionality

    By Snakeim
This is more about the watch itself as I would believe they read the reviews. I have the limited edition watch. Although I understand that this is more about being a watch than a smart watch, there's couple of things they should have included. There are smartwatches these days that look good and have a great functionality. The music control should be able to display the artists title or the song, instead of " music remote ". The fonts are really small and in the night, the light is not bright enough to see anything... The messages should be pushed entirely while you could read them using the buttons. I hope next edition will include microphone and a speaker just like Martian watches. The software really need some work without which, this is just a very expensive watch with some icons... Very disappointing
  • It works

    By GabeZs
The app seems to work ok. I think it needs a little more work functionality wise. Also, one page of "explore the world of Michael Bastian" is probably sufficient instead of three. While I do believe in giving credit where it's due, how about a page about HP and another about accessories? The app should be all about the watch.
  • Great looking. But a bad app

    By sornberg
I agree with the the other reviewers. Great looking watch but the app needs work. Flakey Bluetooth, battery sucking, and cannot get Weather to show even after a watch replacement and working with Support for 2 weeks. I will try one last time and then send watch back if not working.
  • Awful app

    By dukefan23
Always quits unexpectedly. Super frustrating and doesn't translate over to the watch like it should.
