  • Good content missing critical feature in app

So far the content is good. I gave it a spin for Procreate tutorials. So I fired up Procreate and tried to bring up skill share side-by-side. No dice. An even better implementation is to let me run the video in a pip window. As is, the app captures the display and you have to jump between apps. Video playback defaults to playing in the background, but it’s audio only.

Overall, a decent and usable app for watching the course videos. However, some things could definitely be improved. One overall thing that’s lacking in the app is continuity. The website is noticeably more robust than the app. My first and foremost gripe, the lack of speed control. The lack of this feature inherently makes me prefer using a computer to access Skillshare as most of the time I like the lessons to be set to 2x speed. However, while I prefer using the computer I can’t always (nor do I always want to) whip out my laptop and use Skillshare for 15-20 minutes. The second issue, which is just a minor design flaw is that the categories button in the Discover tab should have the sub menus of the categories laid out on the same page. It shouldn’t take 2 separate clicks IMO. Finally, the rotation. It’s just a bit annoying how the video player will only do landscape orientation in one direction. Additionally, the app itself doesn’t have a landscape mode at all while browsing the courses.

I absolutely love Skillshare!!! All the teachers so far make everything so fun and cheerful, they go out of their way to patiently show step by step how to be creative. Their ideas feed the imagination so I go beyond anything I thought possible. I watercolor and until Skillshare I had no idea how much you can add to the medium. My art has gone to a whole new level! Thanks you Skillshare Rebecca Kesler
  • Tons Of Lessons / App Needs Work

Not really any issues with the classes so far. The app is what’s frustrating. It takes like 3 minutes just to load any video even if it’s only a 30 second video. And when it does start most of the time for me the image is frozen while the audio keeps going. Very irritating and makes me not want to use the app.
  • One of the best experiences I’ve had

Not only are the classes diverse, thorough, and fun to learn with, but Skillshare’s customer service is AMAZING. I accidentally purchased a monthly subscription without meaning to and they got back to me in less than 12 hours. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a full refund for a subscription payment from any service before, but Skillshare has blown me away! I would highly recommend both the experience Skillshare provides and the comfort of knowing you’re in safe hands. I’m definitely going to purchase an annual sub when I get the opportunity!
  • High value app if you’ve already got a skill share account

Downloading videos to watch on transit makes me feel more productive during my commute, app works pretty reliably, though I do wish I could change the playback speed like the web app.

Without release dates on content, we who have paid for your site are left without knowing what is current- and therefore relevant. Apps like Procreate continually update- and I want to know what I am learning. This site is somewhat of a waste of time because of this. This still hasn’t been implemented as of Dec 7/18. This feature should have been there right from the start. It’s been a while since I suggested it and still no change. Here we are in the dark ages. Lynda.com has dates- why not this site?

I learned this app existed after listening to Tom Bilyeu. I’ve only had it for a day and I’m in love with it!
