  • Can't cancel ever otherwise good

God help you if you ever want to cancel and you pay through Apple account. It's worse than dealing with an old fashion phone company or cable customer service. No joke. The hassle isn't worth it. Too bad. The app is otherwise good. Real plans says sorry, throws up hands and says call Apple. Guess what Apple says? Yup. Call real plans. Get the picture?
  • Terrible! Not realistic for busy moms!

Basically if your a chef, have one kid, and extra time on your hands, sure this could work. But if your a regular busy mom this will only add to your frustration! I was really hopeful that this would work. I am a busy mom with several kids and wanted something that would give me healthy meal ideas and take the work out of meal planning and grocery shopping. THIS IS NOT IT! First you have to pay just to try it out! So I downloaded the app and selected the one month option. Then I decided to jump on my computer so I could really look around only to find out it was less than half the price to try it through the website. I jumped on the chat and explained this to the customer service person....basically it was "sorry about your luck"! Ok, well I figured if this could really consolidate my meal prep time who cares about the savings. I set up my requirements to personalize my schedule...ex:for lunch I selected 15min prep, simple, kids... It came back with pan seared flank steak and scalloped potatoes, total prep time 30min and total cook time 2 hours!!😳 seriously! And every lunch meal was the same. Again I tried the chat with the customer service rep and asked if I was doing something wrong?? She said I had selected too many filters...umm..ok. She suggested I only select kids...basically the same kind of stuff! No busy momma has any kind of time for all that! I've already cancelled it. So basically I spent $14 to test it out for couple hours😔 Lesson learned never pay for something that doesn't let you try it first!!
  • No trial period, really?

There were super mixed reviews but I downloaded it hoping to try the recipes and app for a week before committing. Unfortunately there is no chance to try so I'm out....
  • Please fix this app

not sure where these positive reviews are coming from...maybe friends? I search for a recipe I know is in the recipe box (Southwest Chicken Soup) and it comes up with no image. Just sort of freezes with nothing on the screen. Tried to import a recipe from the web on my phone, and the images are grainy and have nothing to do with the recipe. If you want to support the paying subscribers, fix this mobile app. Especially us newbies-need something mobile to help when we have questions about a certain product when we're in the grocery store or out to eat.

This app has been life changing for me and my husband. After personally struggling with weight and feeling terrible for years - I finally found answers when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease - Hashimotos. The first order from my endocrinologist was to change EVERYTHING I thought I knew about food and go Whole30, some Paleo, DF, and GF...FOR LIFE - as in a total lifestyle change. I went to Pinterest for recipes but was concerned that some of the ideas to pin weren't Whole30 approved. I was right. So I spent time on the Whole30 site and found Real Plans. I was unsure at first with a subscription charge..but I can assure you I'd be LOST without this app. From the roulette wheel of customizing dinner plans, adjusting servings to accommodate for left overs, and the grocery list - real plans is a necessary toolkit for making a truly healthy lifestyle change.
  • Shopping List not Working

I love using Real Plans to plan my weekly meals and manage my grocery list. In the last few weeks the shopping list seems to be struggling. Either it has a syncing issue and will ask if I want to sync with the network or discard changes, or it doesn't save at all. I just got back from the grocery store and every time I checked something off, it would reappear a minute later. Makes it difficult to keep up with your list when you can't check anything off.

App is not FREE. It's useless unless you subscribe $13.99 monthly, $32.99 quarterly or $69.99 annually.

This has greatly improved our scope and variety of food, especially as we are seasonal eaters and tend to have the same food over and over. The only issue is there always seems to be bugs in the app, and there are a few things that could be made to work a bit more simply. Great variety of recipes though and the option to also import your own!
  • Meal plan is great, app is not

One major factor for turning me on to RealPlans was the fact I could use a mobile app and sync it with an online server so that I may plan my meals on my computer. The idea was that I could then use my phone in the grocery store as a shopping list and buy all my ingredients. I just realized that the recipes and serving sizes do not sync up correctly. When I had 3-4 servings marked for each meal, my shopping list on my phone populated as if each meal were only one serving (which i did not initially notice because I had multiple chicken-based meals and so I thought the amounts were reasonable). Therefore I obviously did not buy enough ingredients for my meals this week, which is very frustrating. I have also noticed the app to freeze up several times after syncing "changes" with the server. I may just cancel my subscription because of this buggy app.
