The League App Description

Equalist. Not Elitist. See our mission statement at So you want to date someone that shares your same education level AND ambition/drive? And maybe, just maybe, you'd like them to be in your same neighborhood, attractive enough to at LEAST look good in a black-and-white photo, with a height that meets your way-too-restrictive height preferences. Perhaps you also want them to share your religion as well. While your mother may call you picky, we call you self-aware. It's about to be happy hour, so go get 'em. #singleisin #neversettle League users now have the option of becoming a member by purchasing a yearly subscription for $199/year (equivalent to $15/month). This membership offers extra perks, customization, more prospects, invites to exclusive events, and is auto-renewing until cancelled by user via iTunes (or settings). Users who wish to cancel their subscription must do so at least 24-hours before the end of the current period . See terms and conditions at and our privacy policy

I like the service A lot. Being able to corroborate someone’s professional profile is a big plus. I do however think only 5 prospects per day is low. Especially considering the selectivity doesn’t se m to be that high.

  • Don't waste you time

Was logging this app for months and made it about halfway through the line. Then I moved to a new city and the app pushed my spot back to the end of the line. Assumed this was just due to it being a larger city however now haven't moved up a spot in weeks despite continuing to log consistently as before. This is clearly a bug but when I messaged support their response was "your spot may fluctuate". This is clearly bs as before the spot never fluctuatated and always moved up. Don't waste your time it will take at least a year to get off the list and that's only if you don't encounter a bug that their support won't even try to fix.
  • Room to improve, some criticisms

I wanted to write about my experience on the app. This app has the potential to be something really stellar, I believe. Despite the criticisms I have of it it’s one of my favorite apps. I think the creators probably mean well but they are a bit tone death on the actual make up of America. So there are a few tweaks I’d recommend. 1) For starters, I believe in light of the recent allegations with Cambridge Analystica that we’re moving to a place we’re we need to get beyond using Facebook as a login / verification tool. I’d extend that to LinkedIn as well given how many times that site has been hacked (the last hack compromised my personal email). So for starters I hate both of those sites cause I don’t trust them with my data. Why are the creators forcing me to use two sites that have proven untrustworthy with my data in order to use this app? 2) I was on the waiting list for two years before I finally got let in which I think is just too long. I forgot I was even on it until I got a random email one day that said I was in. Of course by that point I had deleted my LinkedIn so that was lots of fun trying to get into my account. 3) I totally get the idea and business model “it’s Tinder but without the poor people”. Side stepping the social injustice part of that business statement this sort of discrimination makes the people who are on there almost exclusively homogenous. I’d say 97% of the matches I’ve seen are white, which is whatever but I tend to be attracted to women of all shades. My matches however are almost exclusively blonde, blue eyes and working in the business sector...or not working in the business sector but appearing higher status merely because their parents have money. Every once awhile I’ll see an Asian woman on there. No East Indians, Middle Eastern, Hispanic. Every once and again I’ll see a Black woman, provided she’s really made up, looks like Beyoncé and her profile hits you over the head letting you know that she’s rich. I’m not sure then what the creators’ message is to users given that each profile is specifically selected to be on the platform by them. I get it, money is super important. But the young woman in grad school studying to be a professor isn’t going to have money for a very long time but she is super intelligent and should be considered for the app, too. I know that The League recently received a lot of money from investors so the infrastructure should be such to allow for a much quicker review of profiles and get them off the waiting list, and the members should at the very least reflect the diversity of the country. I don’t know, my idealism might be getting the best of me here.

Matches never talk more than 2 -3 messages, too slow, seems like a ploy to reel in payed users
  • Fraudulent App

    By TR92101
A formal complaint has been sent to the appropriate agency governing these matters. A complete sham, simply trying to gather data, and furthermore attempting to do so at the users literal expense.

This app is a scam designed to collect massive amounts of personal data. Do not install.
  • I can’t update my profile

    By Rjakobs89
I randomly applied to be in the league and I decided a year and a half later to download the app again. I had “gotten in” and didn’t even realize it! Now none of my information is up to date and all I want to do is reapply with correct information and that seems impossible to do. You’re essentially stuck with whatever you used to apply, no matter how out of date. Not cool.
  • Not worth it

Nobody on here is “exclusive.” They’re the same people you’d fine in any app. Some people don’t even have pictures but the were vetted?? They send a ton of people not even in the age bracket I requested. Moral of the story-waste of your time.
