Babbel – Learn Languages App Description

Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. • :/ ...

Not that good. And this app should not need an account. REMOVE IT. That's why I rated this 3star. Another reason is welll... this THING should have more than like two levels to chose. (Beginner and advanced) I mean it. Do these things and I will re-rate this app. Do idmiditly and I will rate it five right away and try it so I can do a review. Plsssssss do them. I will delete this until then. Not happy 😡😑
  • Bad

It is ridiculous how difficult it is to cancel the subscription I paid for a year and never touched it until I got a notification about them pulling more money out. I just want to cancel before they pull more money but I’ve been running in circles for a month trying to get my card out of their system.
  • love this app, however needs improvements

I paid for the year subscription for this app and I’m use it every morning. I am learning from it, it’s fantastic. H owever, I am getting a lot of the questions wrong because of technicalities. For example when it says the to type goodbye in Spanish I put in adios and it says it’s incorrect and since ciao is the right answer. That needs to be fixed so both are ok. Little things here and there. Also, it would be nice to offer a Mexican Spanish course - the Spain Spanish that is offered is a bit different. For instance, “vosotros” is not used in Latin America. It would be nice if the text/images were bigger too - there is so much screen real estate - use it. The quiz section would be easier to see if the word was more center screen instead of hidden on the bottom. Little things like this. Overall I love the concept and the app is really useful. Keep up the good work! Muchas gracias
  • Good if you know Spanish already

I don’t know Spanish nor have I ever taken a foreign language. With that said I would make a few basic assumptions that when they speak the words or phrases they would do it slowly so you can understand and then follow it up saying it at a conversational pace if they want. Also I don’t want to learn how to spell the words just the basic language. The app has good possibilities, but for me I feel I wasted my money.
  • I need Mexican spaniish. This is not

And they automatically renewed with no.notivation in advance. Duolingo isn’t great but at least you can work in Mexican Spanish.
  • No help with pronunciation

    By hmk3nt
The whole point of learning is to be able to speak it but there is no help with pronunciation. If you’re off it just tells you you are wrong but does not break down the sentence phonetically to help you. Crap!
  • Took Money won’t let me logon with email

    By Sherril B.
Although you are offered the choice to login with email, Google, or Facebook, the email address option does not work. I’m not interested in sharing information between Facebook and Babbel, so I attempted to register with my email, but the app will not allow me to create a password. So Babel took my money, and I have gotten nothing. I attempted to call well within the stated business hours, but the recording on the line says I called outside of business hours! What a rip off.
  • I love this app!

Easily navigate the courses, refresh what you’ve learned, grow at your own pace. My friend and I are already speaking French with one another on a very basic level, and we are getting better everyday. I love this app, it is super fun!
  • Fraudulent

    By dzenner
After purchasing a 3 month subscription it wouldn’t let me go further in the lesson plan. Babbel suggests logging out and logging back in recognizing they have this issue. After I took this step it didn’t recognize my password and locked me out. After contacting Babbel several times they said they couldn’t do anything for me and sent me to Apple. Apples automated response was to reject my request as all app sales are final. Shame on you Babbel. You knew that would be the response. I was charged $57.00 for an app I never got to use and they immediately charged my account. This app has technical issues and I feel what Babbel did was very fraudulent. I want to money refunded. What a horrible experience.
  • Too much spelling

    By kmonty60
I’m trying to learn German and I appreciate that I can see the word and hear the pronunciation clearly. I don’t like having to do so much spelling; it’s too difficult to learn when you’ve seen a German word once and now need to spell it correctly! I wish I could add words for review and delete some phrases that seem useless as a beginner!
