Babbel – Learn Languages App Description

Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. I am learning Spanish to spread the word of God! II am a fan of this app!!! I do believe it works! My only problem is I am not good at grammar! I wish I could have paid better attention in English class! The problems I’m having are I don’t know what all the different proper M proper nouns adjectives mean! I don’t think this is the apps fault obviously it’s my own! I also wish I could have chat’s with other ppl on Babbel! Speaking in Spanish to people @ my own level might help! GOD BLESS!!!
  • Missing characters for Russian

    By CeKinyon
There are some questions in the Russian course you literally cannot answer correctly even if you know the answer because the keyboard doesn’t have the characters you need. Most recently was the “soft sign/hard sign” section for spelling. The keyboard doesn’t have the hard sign character that looks like a ‘b’ with a little tail on top. It’s pretty annoying but other than that it’s a good app.
  • Too buggy!

    By Sin la Esperanza
Content of Babbel may be good, but at times formatting does not fit my iPad mini. I am left with screens where I cannot see the complete question, hence cannot provide proper answer. Am hoping this review will get there attention and they will correct.

Yo no quiero aprender español de España, pero español de México. !También no me gusta “política correcta” en las lecciones!
  • I want Italian not Spanish!

    By St.Melyd
It opened up in Spanish, please let me know how I can change it to Italian and I'll give five stars!
  • Wants Unnecessary Information

    By FndrStrat06
This language learning app doesn’t need to know my age, other than to determine what data is okay to pull from my device. Uninstalled immediately.
  • This is the real deal

    By Judge Bill Swann
I was a professional Ivy League language teacher of German for 13 years. Now I am in the law. Babbel is beautifully built on the four necessary areas of language learning—reading, speaking, hearing, writing. I write here in this review only of the German program, which you I would expect to be the best, because the app is a German product. It may not be as good in other languages. See for yourself. Based on German, this is the real deal. Spend the money. Get a year’s subscription.
  • Mostly good; done need writing lessons

    By mmo2468
For my travel purposes, I don’t need to know how to write French, merely to speak. For me the writing exercises are interruptions. I wish I could tailor my lesson to skip those parts.
