AVICSYNC App Description

*********************************************************************************** Notice: - In order to be able to use AVICSYNC, please make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your AVIC Navigation system. For details, please visit our web site. - The default language is set as "English(UK)". If you use another language, please read the AVICSYNC Operation Manual and install it. - If the downloaded content is too large, it may take a long time for the data to be transferred to your in-car navigation system via the AVICSYNC App. In such cases, you can also synchronize the content using Naviextras Toolbox on your computer and the “SyncTool” menu of the in-car navigation instead. *********************************************************************************** AVICSYNC is a dynamic companion App that allows you to connect your iPhone to a compatible Pioneer NEX navigation receiver. Once linked, the NEX navigation receiver communicates with your iPhone to share information such as contacts, navigation history, planned routes, POI favorites, and even where you parked your vehicle. With AVICSYNC, your NEX navigation receiver can also access Premium connected services* such as real-time local search, weather, traffic, parking, and gas prices ensuring that you’ll have all the information you need to reach your desired destination.   In addition to augmenting your Pioneer NEX in-dash navigation experience, AVICSYNC also works as a standalone navigation app. This means you’ll always have access to Pioneer’s accurate turn-by-turn navigation, even when you’re not in your vehicle.   AVICSYNC-compatible models: AVIC-X8610BS AVIC-5000NEX AVIC-6000NEX AVIC-7000NEX AVIC-8000NEX AVIC-5100NEX AVIC-6100NEX AVIC-7100NEX AVIC-8100NEX AVIC-5200NEX AVIC-6200NEX AVIC-7200NEX AVIC-8200NEX AVIC-5201NEX   *Premium services require in-app purchase(s). The cost of data communication depends on the pricing plan of your cellular provider. You are responsible for all communication costs. Please be aware that you may incur additional roaming charges from your cellular provider by using connected services while abroad. The default language is set as "English(UK)". If you use another language, please read the AVICSYNC Operation Manual and install it.

AVICSYNC App Reviews

  • Total rip-off!!!

    By davcanul
This app crashes every time I intent to use it. It is a total fraud. They take your money and you can’t get any support to deliver what you paid for. It should be illegal to rob you this way. One star because you can’t give less.
  • Not very good

    By Killa your mother
This simply don’t work very good. In fact most of the features don’t at all. I subscribed to all the services thinking how cool this would be. Not a good plan. I wasted a bunch of money and time on this. Pioneer... great unit. Terrible software.
  • Developers need to take notes from Garmin

    By Villbill
I have the 5200 nex, and this app still is not functional. Garmin has a similar app called Smart Link that works flawlessly. Pioneer, please listen to this and many other disgruntled CUSTOMERS, and please fix this troubled application. DEC 2018 Update I have since bought a new iPhone and a new 7200 AVIC headunit. The AVIC sync app is useless. I have tried to download and RE download the app but it still cannot find a GPS signal. pioneer just needs to start from scratch on this one
  • Last Update Broke Traffic

    By jonnyct
The last update broke the traffic service in the app. It no longer downloads any traffic data even though I have months left on my (paid) subscription. Apparently support has known about this for months and still has no ETA on when it will be fixed as it “only affects iPhone users”.
  • Don’t waste your time downloading this APP!!!

    By JD's Cooking
Piece of SH_T app doesn’t even work. Why bother launching something that doesn’t even function properly? Spend all this money on a head unit with Pioneer and this SH_T with a bunch of issues. Don’t even bother downloading this app like most of the reviewers stated.
  • ❌EL Capotone STINKO❌ That’s Spanish for The Leader Stink

    By TRU_Pacman
Do not download or purchase any Pioneer Apps or In-App-Purchases. I’ve Downloaded Every Single One just knowing they had a few that potentially enhanced or customized my Listening or Viewing experience to where I’d use it at least occasionally if not each time in the car. I’ve spent hours maybe days of time into playing with and tweaking the settings, purchasing bells and whistles in their In-App-Purchase selection in the Stores on the Apps and it’s all trash, none of which I even remotely am on the fence to have u even try. Moral of the story is I love my Pioneer Head-unit, I Hate Every App they’ve ever made and wish all the Bad things in the World Happen to their App Creators and nobody else.
  • Not working

    By garbageapp 408669
I bought this unit couple years ago, this app has not worked since. Went through about 4 different IPhone none of them has worked. When they said it worked I already upgraded to a new phone...garbage app!
  • Works...sorta

    By WhosMrMagoo
The AVICSYNC app works, but the interface could use an overhaul. My biggest pain point is the lack of it being able to run in the background. It’s annoying having to keep the screen on to prevent the data connection from going dormant (you stop receiving traffic info) Update (09/18) - Online Search issue was fixed by updating to the latest maps. Now TomTom LIVE Traffic is down 😑 Also, why are the map updates on Naviextras not quarterly? (Q1 2018 is available but Pioneer only offers Q4 2017) I don’t want to pay for already outdated maps 🙄
  • Worthless

    By Jimburd
How could your ‘developers’ possibly update this app without fixing the SERIOUS bug that exists in the use of the Contacts app to input an address? Continues to say, ‘No useable address found’. Absolute IDIOTS.
  • Subpar at best for Pioneer

    By BillyKurtz
If you set the bugs, user interface and connectivity issues aside this app is still mostly redundant and essentially worthless. But they didn’t forget the monthly or annual subscription options. I most likely would have subscribed if the app wasn’t so ridiculous. But why do I need a 2nd navi for my navi headunit? Subpar for such a leading AV company like Pioneer.
