Natural Cycles, Birth Control App Description

Natural Cycles helps you keep track of your ovulation, period and fertility. The app will show you when to use protection to effectively prevent a pregnancy. It is clinically tested to be 99.5% effective*. *Natural Cycles has a method failure Pearl Index of 0.5, which means that 5 women out of 1000 get pregnant during one year due to a falsely attributed green day. Natural Cycles has a typical-use Pearl Index of 7.0, which means that in total 7 women out of 100 get pregnant during one year due to all possible reasons (e.g. having unprotected sex on red days, failure of the contraceptive method used on red days). Natural Cycles analyses your temperature, period and ovulation to calculate when you are fertile and should use birth control (e.g. condoms). Our algorithm is the brains behind the app. It takes care of all the complex calculations and tells you everything you need to know about your cycle. How it works: Measure your temperature first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. You will need a two decimal basal thermometer to do so. Enter your measurement and other data such as period, sex and LH test results into the app. A green day means you are not fertile. A red day means that you are likely to be fertile and you should use protection. Make sure to read the instructions of use before you get started. For the app to effectively work as a birth control, you should be comfortable with using protection such as condoms on red days. In the beginning, the app will be getting to know your unique cycle, so you will have more red days - this is to ensure effectiveness. Once you’ve measured for a while you can get as little as 8 red days in one cycle. Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Planning a pregnancy: Natural Cycles goes beyond birth control. Our ‘Plan a pregnancy’ mode lets you know when you are most fertile and time your sex to increase your chances of conceiving. The app will let you know when it’s best to take a pregnancy test. Once a positive test is entered into the app, it switches colours and your features change. You will now be able to track the development of your pregnancy. You can easily switch back to "Prevent". • Yayyyy

Literally changed my life! I have been trying over 20 different pills the past year and it was hell. My body hated all of them. This has given me the freedom from all of those horrible side effects. Best solution ever. Thank you
  • The Perfect Natural Birth Control Soution

    By Harmony-Levy
Yes a bit of adjusting is needed to get use to taking your temp every morning, but once you get in the swing it's easy, effective, and symptom free! I will never go on another birth control again and recommend it to everyone, especially young girls. You don't have to be pumped with hormones or have foreign objects in your body just to enjoy safe sex. Thank you Natural Cycles!!
  • Awesome natural alternative

Really good way to get off the pill and use this natural form of contraception. My doctor told me birth control would not have any affects on my body and once off of BC, there were so many differences. I’m happy natural cycles allows me to have this an alternative to prevent pregnancy for the meantime and eventually plan a pregnancy 😊
  • Great App

    By Paige Erimo
I enjoyed learning about my cycle and how my basal body temperature can detect ovulation. After being unable to take oral hormonal contraceptives, this app really helped me. However, I wish for one of the following improvements: an illuminated thermometer screen (it's difficult to get a reading when it's dark) OR create a Bluetooth thermometer that automatically inputs your temperature into the app.
  • Worse app ever

    By Dffyj
I normally would just delete an app as bad as this, however, when dealing with such a sensitive subject like fertility I felt the need to voice my opinion. Thermometer is a regular ovulation thermometer and difficult to read in the dark, as it has no light. Also, the thermometers isn’t synced with app, so you have to manually enter. The predictions are completely off. I have had a regular 30 day cycle for years and this app’s prediction is normally 7-10 days off of my cycle, so there is NO way I would trust it for fertility nor birth control purposes. Lastly, there is no indicator on the month for your cycle day. Your better off using the moon phases to predict your cycle.
  • Better choice than the pill

I had been on Microgestin for 5 years before I got off and decided to start REALLY getting to know myself. It was an entertaining journey going through the transition. I wasn’t used to my own emotions and for the first two months I had terrible break outs. But, my friends! There is hope at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been with Natural Cycles for a whole year now. It’s so liberating to know who I truly am without artificial hormones. When you release yourself from the tight leash of the pharmaceutical world, you wouldn’t believe the amount of freedom and confidence you have. ❤️💓💙

    Even better than I imagined!
  • You have to pay.

    By Karievich121212
Free app. But come to find out you have to pay for it monthly. You get one free month. That's really nice, but I'm trying to get pregnant again. This could take many months! 👎
