  • Relaunch is a cash grab. Try Spark instead.

    By HelloPretzel
First off, Spark is free. Second... last year, the $49.99 per year subscription drove away users. So, Newton offers subscription for $4.99 per month. This was great and made a ton of users very happy! So, Newton raised yearly subscription price to $99, because, that makes total sense. Then Newton shutdown. Shocker. Newton relaunches in February 2019 with 50% off last subscription pricing! $49.99 per year with no monthly option. $49.99 per year. The same price that drove away users in the past and eventually led to Newton’s demise in 2018. Not only did they keep the same terrible pricing model, but if they have the same mentality as they did in 2018, Newton doesn’t plan on adding any more “Superchargers”. Why pay $49.99 a year if they don’t plan on adding any new features? What are we paying for? Will there be a dark mode? If so, why didn’t they add it at the relaunch? Sadly, I see this relaunch as the relaunch to another shutdown. As I stated before... Spark is free. And they update features frequently.
  • Sent "not read" emails

So I was rearranging tags in Gmail, now I have a Newton/Doped folder and a bunch of emails sent without permission.
  • Solid Replacement for Inbox

    By Mark ...
The app is stable, the design is clean, and although the workflow is different, the newsletter and social media email filters catch just about everything inboxes bundles caught - making this the best replacement for inbox of the lot. Also the read receipts and signature feature (you can use a different signature for the second + email in a chain) are killer. Features I’d love to see (all from inbox... rip) 1. Bundle travel emails together with flight information. 2. Allow me to accept or decline calendar invites without opening the email that attached them. 3. Group emails by day/week/month so I have some context for time. Thanks for making a solid email client, - Mark
  • I want to like it

    By Mark Stoneman
I want to like it because there are some very handy features, especially on mobile devices. I don't like how it wants to force users to use it in certain ways, especially when I've been using email for some 25 years. I would also suggest that they offer monthly pricing at a somewhat higher rate in order to give people a chance to really work with it. A two-week trial is not enough time to put this through its paces. A small monthly subscription fee could give one a bit more time to see how things play out in one's workflow. Small iPad bug, maybe Newton, or maybe the mail server: Newton claims I have a new/unread message, but I don't.
  • Unreasonable pricing for an email client

    By AlexJH2013
I gave this a chance and wanted to like it, but it surely is nothing revolutionary and not worth the ridiculous price. I enjoy paying for software that brings value, and I understand and appreciate the need to monetize their previously free product, but don’t understand the outrageous recurring price for an email client. Reduce your price and get more customers while retaining brand loyalty. I cannot recommend this product.
  • The company doesn’t keep its promises to customers

I got a 50% lifetime discount deal for Newton email app. The deal was a decisive factor for me to use this app considering many many excellent free alternatives. After Newton email was shut down and in business again, the customer services refused to give me my discounted price. I have paperwork that proves the deal.
  • Best email app I have ever used

Bar none the most clever email app ever. Easy to use fast neat features. Glad it is back.

As a person who works with hundreds of emails per day, Newton is the only app I’ve ever used that made email a really friendly and efficient experience. My life was sad when Newton went away ☹️ but it’s back and now the future has never been brighter 🥳
  • Best email app, hands down.

    By jakekemple
After spending some time without Newton, I realized it’s easily the best email client on the market, especially for iOS/Mac platforms. Visually spectacular and great for dealing with multiple email accounts. For me, the cost is worth it.
  • Won’t commit to fixing annoying bugs

    By chinanderm
Despite contacting the developer several times over the past year, they are refusing to commit to fixing a simple, annoying bug in the app. I would rate it five stars but not without a commitment to fixing bugs, especially for a paid service.
