I really like this app. Simple to use and fast. But I gave it one star for a couple of reasons. I had a surgery on my vocal cords and can not talk. At least not for a month or two. I needed something to communicate with and this app seemed like a simple solution. Type what I want to say and have my device talk for me. Simple enough, uh? After downloading several of these similar apps, this was one of the apps I liked the most. Until I ran into one huge problem. I had to call my state disability insurance dept to file a claim. I knew a lot of the questions I was going to be asked and I typed answers for those questions ahead of my call in my iPad. It took me about an hour to type everything. I make the call and as I was on hold waiting for a rep to help me, I accidentally pulled the screen downward and when I let go all the work I had done was deleted. The app never confirmed with me if I really wanted to delete everything, it just did. All that hard work completely gone to waste. The app should ask if you really want to delete everything or not, not just delete everything. That is a horrible design flaw in the app. I know the app has a way of saving favorite phases, but I figured those are more for frequently used phrases, not something I would only use once or may be twice. The app should let you either lock phrases individually and/or ask before deleting everything at once. The other problem I encountered is that it does not support other languages than English. As a speaker of multiple I wish that I didn’t have to switch apps to text to speed in other languages. Too bad! Additionally, it would be nice to have the ability to create different folders for different conversation topics. That way not everything you talk about is all piled up on one long list. Also, to be able to arrange the phrases alphabetically or chronologically. Also to save favorite phrases for each folder and on a common folder of favorite(most common) phrases. May be those phrases would appear on the top first. That is how I would design an app such as this one. Because I feel that an app such as this one could definitely help people with speech impairments/disabilities. Such as I am encountering for the time been.
  • Doesn't speak

Every time I press the speak button it just doesn't do anything at all. Nothing happens. It does not work and I would give this app 0 stars if I could

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I’m 64 years old and I did not know that such technology existed. Now I am certain that I will put it to use every day. Thank you and keep up the good work.
  • Best app I found

I recently had throat surgery and was left unable to speak during my recovery period. This app has enabled me to still communicate with people around me and has been a blessing.
