Banjo Rolls Trainer App Description

Announcing the brand new Banjo Rolls Trainer 3.0! Get your right hand in tip-top shape with the Banjo Rolls Trainer. The Banjo Rolls Trainer is a library and player of essential banjo rolls which will help make your playing sound fresh, authentic, and professional. "The Banjo Rolls Trainer has effortlessly helped my beginner students learn the nuances of Scruggs style banjo, and has been a fantastic aid in solving right hand timing problems. If you want to see fast progress, get this app!" -Bennett Sullivan, Banjo Educator, Performer, Composer "I briefly downloaded it and it looks great. I would highly recommend it." -Geoff Hohwald, Introduction to 5 String Banjo a Banjo Primer books author "So if you’re working on learning the rolls and how they relate to what the rest of the band does, or looking for an audio tool to help plug away at the right hand exercise, this could be a great tool for you." -Kyle Tuttle, Banjo Newsletter Magazine With this app, you are able to practice your banjo rolls while being accompanied by the metronome, the upright bass and the guitar(and you can change the volume of each of these instruments!). The "Speed Up" function automatically increases the speed of the metronome after a set number of bars so you can master speed without even blinking an eye. Features: - 13 basic build-in banjo rolls and more in the on-line roll library. Clawhammer Bum-Ditty and ¾ rolls included - Record, write, share your very own rolls! *NEW* - Background music in a large variety of keys and chord progressions - "Speed up"– automatically increases the speed after a set number of bars - Volume setting of upright bass, guitar, banjo and metronome. This is a must have for any beginner/intermediate student of the banjo, so get it now! Note: if you got a black stripes on the side of your screen on iOS 7.1, please upgrade to iOS 8 where everything works fine. Thanks.

  • Great for learning

This is great. Let's you specify the chords you want to play using the specific roll you want to learn. It allows you to configure it to animate the notes as it plays. Wish it would do the same thing to the chord list so you can follow long songs and know what chord to play next. I learned to hardly ever fret the 5th string but this program frets it frequently for certain chords. Not sure that I like that. Would like a setting that lets you learn rolls without using the 5th string.

  • Valuable app

This app does a great job correlating the tab of various roll to its actual sound. I find that hearing what a roll is supposed to sound like is nearly as important as seeing the written tab.
