This app for iPhone and iPad is almost as user friendly as using a desktop computer. There's a little lag but I love being able to use the cloud to keep the work I've done updated on both mediums. It's hard to do a couple formulas but still sooooooo useful!
  • Absolutely awful for the iPad.

Literally the worst piece of software I have ever used in my life. 1. I had to jump through hurdles to modify the graph title. Tapping the box “Chart Title” did absolutely nothing. I couldn’t even select it. I had to copy a line of text from another document and then paste it onto the graph to be able to change it. Even then, I couldn’t change the font or size. 2. I could not modify the axis titles at all. The trick I used above did not work for the axis titles. Trying to resize the boxes opens the drawing tool for some reason, even with Draw with Touch disabled. 3. I could not modify the part of the graph with the data points. Tapping on it showed a blue dot at each corner, but trying to drag the dot to resize it did nothing. Since I couldn’t edit the size of the title, I had to enlarge everything else to make it look appropriate. But, nope. Who needs a functional piece of software when you can make everything Colorful and Shiny, right guys? 4. There isn’t an option to add the equation of the trend line equation to my graph. Instant uninstall for this reason alone. 5. Why does my data get separated into different series? One would think that Excel would know that Column A values and Column B values should be X and Y data, respectively. But, Excel cannot seem to figure that out for the iPad. I had to use a scatter plot and later add a trend line. What’s the point of a line graph if you can’t specify your X and Y values? Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, Microsoft. This is absolute garbage and should be removed from the store until it is useable. I should not have wasted my money on an office 365 subscription if the apps don’t even have basic functionality.

I have used Excel on my iPhone and iPad to do my time sheets and service orders for work for several years now. However, now the app has completely broken down on me. I can no longer upload changes to files due to either an unknown error, or because MS thinks someone else is accessing the file, even though no one else is. I have tries changing cloud storage services to no avail. This happened once before and I had to switch to opening files through Dropbox, before a subsequent update fixed the issue. Now I am seeing the same problem after another update to the app. Please fix this. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior in an app people pay for and depend on.

I’m no big fan of Excel, but this app is just like using the desktop version. I must say, it makes it easy to maneuver around & no force stops thusfar

It took some time to learn but is great afterward.
  • Not worth the required 360 Service

Upgraded to an iPad Pro an discovered I now need to pay $6.99 a month (over $80 a year) to be able to edit files. Limited functionality and cumbersome workflows are simply not worth the money, Especially in consideration that there are much more affordable alternatives to perform “basic” spreadsheet tasks.
