    For all the people who have trouble with the verification system, just set up an email on your account. It will let you login even without your phone. This app is great. I have have absolutely no issues after using it multiple times a day for multiple months.
  • Chat Not Syncing With Mobile App

    I don’t use the desktop version of this app all that often (mobile primarily) but when I opened the desktop version this evening, my chat history only partially synced. I’ve got some chats that are synced through today, some that are only synced up to a month ago and other chats are only synced to December (it’s now August). I’ve never been a huge fan of this app for various reasons, but it’s the chat app of choice for many of the people I’m in contact with, so I use it out of necessity. But right now I”m missing months worth of chat history on the desktop. Since their “support” doesn’t seem to exist, maybe a crap review will get their attention.

    IT WON”T EVEN LET ME LOGIN ON THE DESKTOP VERSION!!! It needs to verify on the mobile device which needs to verify on another device… Seriously??? I will explain. I started using LINE years ago on my iPhone. After using it at first, for a few months, it said something about verification and I tried to follow everything it said, but it kept locking me out. I decided to create a new user on my iPad which is Wifi only. I used a different email address. Minor issues over the next 3 years, but nothing major. Never could get help from LINE any time I tried. They are not there for you. You are there for them. After roughly 3 years, I login one day just fine. The next day, it tells me that I need to verify my account from a smartphone. It even has a link that says something about “If this device is not a smartphone…”. I’ve tried everything I can and still, can’t get access back into my account. If I try to load it on any other device, it tells me that it will delete everything and basically start over. Everything that I have saved. I don’t know if contacts will be gone or not, but some pictures and short videos and links and chats - gone. LINE, if you read this, when you piss people off, they leave. If you want to keep people, try aking care of them. Wait - that would end up costing you money, so, I guess that won’t happen.

    As somebody who is recovering from tennis elbow I've learned to use the voice input and Siri in Mac quite a lot. I find it a bit frustrating that line does not support voice input on the macOS. Otherwise a fairly good application.

    While I like the app and have spent plently of money buying stickers, I am just so frustrated with this company and the devs to the point where I am now actively looking for something to replace it. With every update, they always manage to break something. This time the app no longer plays sounds when receiving messages. Still cannot install on multiple PCs. Really? Are they really so lazy that they cannot do this? iOS and PC version of this app still dont have a way to earn free coins. Android has had this feature for years. iOS version had a "Earn Coins" portal added to the app years ago, and yet it has been pretty much empty since. They literally added a useless featue that cannot be used and does nothing, and its literally been there for ages. iOS and PC version of this app also does not offer a way for you to gift stickers to other people. Im pretty sure android has had this feature FOR YEARS With all the money I've given them, they still cant seem to fix even the simplest issues that are expected of modern day messaging apps. With all the money they are making they still cannot deliver features they've been promising us for years. Guess I will try Kakao or any other app that now offers a sticker feature.

    Needs Auto Correction and Capitilization BIG TIME. Allow for the THEMES used in the mobile app to be used in the desktop version. Allow for the window to be resized any which way, including narrowing the contacts column to just show the icon of the contact. The contacts column just takes up too much space. Signing in with password/Sign in automatically needs to remember better. If this app adds these things and just continues to receive updates I’m pretty certain it’ll be one of the best.
  • No Way to Retrieve Account Information

    I use(d) LINE. I had an account in Japan, but once I switched devices from an Android to an iPhone, I was unable to transfer the account because the account was set up in Japan. That forced me to create a new account. So I did, and connected it to Facebook without having to add any of my personal information. I moved back to Japan and was forced to ‘identify’ my account with my carrier despite it being an American phone with an account made in America. For whatever reason, after returning to America, when I upgraded my iPhone from the 6S Plus to the 8 Plus, the App forced me to “verify” my account through Facebook. Low and behold, again, LINE “can’t” identify or confirm my account despite the fact that the account is currently linked to my facebook account and my friends can still see my account on their contacts. Contacting LINE support is moot. Automated replies and no real dedication to solving the issue. Once they sent me a Facebook verification link and it “verified” my account, they reply back with: Unfortunately, we cannot identify your LINE account with the phone number or email you provided. Please understand that we will not be able to offer any further support if we cannot identify your LINE account. If you can confirm any other registered information, please contact us again. We will look into the issue as soon as we receive your feedback. We apologize for falling short of your expectations on this occasion, and appreciate your understanding. —— LINE has always had a dumb security system to using the application. In Japan, it forces you to identify with your carrier so the account is non-transferable if you switch carriers or change numbers. In America, since they forego that security with the Facebook option, if you try to transfer your account it’ll break again. With the inability to reset passwords or have account information sent instanteously makes LINE an annoying app to use. The one device restriction coupled with the lack luster English customer service makes me not want to use this app at all. Four days and they can’t even find an account that obviously exists? Shame. I’m never using this app again.
