KEY FEATURES ============================= Keep track of your baby’s mental development Learn all about the leaps and bounds and the fussy phases of your baby Read the bestselling Wonder Weeks book here in this app Take notes about a range of topics Think of it as a portable, at-a-glance version of the calendar leap chart in The Wonder Weeks. Where the book describes in-depth and easy-to-understand terms the incredible developmental changes your baby goes through, the app is the perfect leap calendar companion to track your baby’s mental development (during the first 20 months).
By knowing what is going on inside the head of your baby, you can help him to make the leap more easily and stimulate his development. The Wonder Weeks app helps new parents by:

 - Calendar Showing when your baby makes a leap in his mental development
 - What your baby can understand & learn after this mental leap
 - What your baby can do after this leap
 - What you can do to help your baby

This app is also a handy reminder for new parents when their baby’s brain is changing, or “leaping,” the baby is making a significant advance in mental development, and with each step forward comes a drastic change in the way your baby sees the world around him. Because these leaps come so quickly, the “new world” and new abilities can sometimes be scary, and the development can initially manifest in poor sleep, bad appetite, crying, clinging and crankiness – exhausting and frustrating mom and dad.
International experts on The Wonder Weeks:
“This is a very practical and entertaining window into the baby’s first year and a half. van de Rijt and Plooij have observed and found the vulnerable times in an infant’s development that I independently came to in my book Touchpoints (Perseus Books Group). The authors’ observations and practical suggestions are wonderful.”
-T. Berry Brazelton, M.D., professor emeritus, Harvard Medical School

"Anyone who deals with infants and young children will want to read The Wonder Weeks. This book will open parents' eyes to aspects of their children's growth, development, changing behavior, and emotional responsiveness that they might otherwise not notice or find puzzling and distressing."
-Catherine Snow, Ph.D., Shattuck Professor of Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education

This is the first app I have ever paid for and I could’ve done without it. My cousin told me I needed it so I got it but I could’ve done without it. Baby gets fussy and I decide to look at it and it says he’s in a stormy period... well, great. I could’ve told you that since he’s been fussin for the past two days. Wish I could get my $3 back.
  • Helpful BUT...

I really enjoy this app. It definitely helps explain what my daughter’s going through. My only complaint is that I wish we could decide when to unlock the leap. My daughter is in her third leap now and with each leap she has started 3 days early. I can now easily tell she’s in a leap, but wish I could have the info when she starts instead of having to wait 3 days until the Wonder Weeks says she’s going to start to know what’s going on.
  • So helpful for FTM

As a first time mom, there’s so many unknowns and so much advice swirling around. While I think with everything, every baby is different, but more often times than not - the chart on this is spot on (within a week or two) to when my baby has stormy periods. Knowing when to anticipate these and understand why they’re happening is so helpful. It’s very insightful to understand how my sons brain and life is developing and following along with this app has been very helpful! Highly recommend!!
  • Not real science!!

I recommend reading the Wiki about the Wonder Weeks before purchasing. I had not, used the app with our son for a few months. I was surprised by how little correlation there seemed to be between what the app said we should be experiencing with him and what was happening in real life. Once seeing the Wiki page, this made sense since it turns out the ‘science’ behind this is bogus. The researcher’s findings were not able to be replicated by future researchers and, to make matters even better, the researcher apparently attempted to stop other scientists from publishing their actually legit findings, because they contradicted his. And it sounds like he was a womanizer so three strikes. Unfortunately, anyone who finds correlation between the app or book and their baby is working off of a placebo effect. You read it and then you see it because the app says it’s happening. It’s unfortunate because it may define how some parents approach their babies needs, all of which is based off of nothing.

It has been spot on EVERY leap so far and knowing what my son is going through mentally and making the connection between what he is doing and what the leap said he would be doing is really neat to watch.
  • Good Insight

Being first time parents, this has really helped my husband and I work our way through our son’s growth spurts. I also think it’s very cool to know what it is they’re learning in each leap. Just use it with a flexible perspective. The last leap lasted longer for our son than it said it would, but for the most part, everything is pretty on the mark.
  • Shouldn’t have to pay for info you can find through google!

There are literally only 9 leaps on here. AKA 9 paragraphs of info about the baby. That’s it!!! The info is childish and I could have found this info on google if I just researched it on my own. I always thought spending money on apps was dumb- never did it until this app- now I totally regret it. And on top of that it’s kind of expensive for an app! 2.99?! Anyway, I regret it and it’s not worth it. Also the “storms” calendar doesn’t line up with my baby at all.
