Storm Shield App Description

Named by's @Techland as one of the best weather apps for your iPhone and Apple Watch. Severe weather alerts for your exact location. Storm Shield gives you storm-based alerts for tornado, hurricane, flood, thunderstorm, winter storms and other life-threatening weather events via voice and push notification. Storm-based alerts help reduce false alarms by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. County-based alerts can result in false alarms, warning you when your location in the county is not within the threatened area. What people are saying: • Storm Shield "alerted our family of the Broken Arrow, OK tornado, faster than the TV and tornado sirens." - Robyn • "I was in Oklahoma City during the tornado... we were right in its path. Your app literally was a life saver." - dcalk12 Benefits: • Get voice alerts just like a NOAA weather radio via push notification anywhere in the United States. • With Apple Watch, get a tap on your wrist when alerts are issued for your locations. • Add Storm Shield's widget to your Today screen to get quick access to active alerts for the first location in your app. • Touch Storm Shield's app icon on your 3D-Touch enabled iPhone for quick widget access. • Hi-Def radar map is your home screen so you can quickly see what's going on at your locations. • Long-tap on the map to get current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts. • Save additional locations to ensure family members stay safe. • Closings for Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Lansing, Milwaukee, Nashville, Omaha, Tulsa. Can you please adjust your radar intensity? Right now you show orange and red like waves of zombies are coming yet it is hardly sprinkling where I am at. It makes it hard to take the radar seriously. Alarm fatigue anyone????
  • Never works when needed

The radar never works when a storm is coming makes the app useless i have tried on wifi and mobile data..other times app works great for checking temp and radar as long as no storm is coming then god forbid the app work! Iphone 8 plus
  • I paid full price and they want more money

Money hungry developers that move to subscription based apps should be banned!
  • I love this app!!

Every time I hear that the weather is changing, I go directly to this app for complacency. Thanks for a great app. You have taken so many features away since I paid for this now it is hard to check on snow and area of rain.
  • Garbage

I am very disappointed in this app and also the people who designed it. I do understand they do want to make money. I can respect that myself. Who cannot understand that because I’m sure there’s a lot of work that goes into designing these apps. I’m very disappointed with this company who designed it. I did purchased this app a few years ago and I sent an email I was wondering if they would add a few things? They were very nice. They did respond back to me. So I’m thinking this is a good app. They put some updates on this app and now they want to charge you extra for it. I think that’s wrong. Also AccuWeather has a much better weather app including the weather bug over this. It does follow your location and they give you more for your money. I recommend you do not purchase this app . It’s not really a good app for tracking the weather.

  • Good app

    By johnnyiris
Loved the app when I first installed it ,but I notice the temp ,dew point and humidity are N/A more often than not .And at times the radar is blank when it’s clearly raining out. Hope it gets resolved or I’ll have to go back to the other weather app.
  • Doesn’t even work half the time

    By 16.2 minutes
Not sure why this is rated so high. Half the time it won’t even update the weather or connect to their server.
  • Slow

    By rap+country
It takes to long to load the radar.
