Credit Karma App Reviews

  • A Game Changer!

    By DMLaguna
This app is for anyone that is serious about improving their credit. This app increased my credit score dramatically after a few months because they make it easy to dispute derogatory items. They also give you recommendations as to what you need to do to improve your credit score like paying down balances etc. I made the mistake of downloading another popular credit app through Experian and that was a big mistake. It gave me a credit match with a credit card that it claimed I was likely to receive an approval with, so (as the company claims), I could “apply with confidence”. That was completely false! I was declined for that card and it left a hard inquiry on my account which dramatically affected my credit score. I will never trust an app like I trust Credit Karma. Credit Karma will allow you to be matched with credit cards that you are likely to be approved from plus, the credit card companies will check your credit without doing a hard inquiry and allow you to see if you qualify without negatively effecting your credit score. I seldom do reviews but I this time I felt it was necessary to give Credit Karma the ‘credit where credit is due’.
  • Help

I have been using this app for years, now all of a sudden its telling me that my password is incorrect. I was using facial recognition to log in. So, i changed my password and its still saying the same thing. I am able to log in through the website, but not the app. So inconvenient. BUT i will still give 4 stars because i havent had a problem till now. But if someone helps me, i will change it to a 5*

My friend referred this to me a year ago and I couldn't be happier. It has helped me out so much and I'm extremely pleased with this app
  • Very Satisfied with Great Service!

I favor this app for checking & managing my credit matters over two other (like) companies to which I’m subscribed; however, the notifications badge stays in alert status even after I’ve addressed a related alert in the app. No problems with service. TamToeG

  • Inaccurate information

    By JeannieH919
Trying to get stuff corrected is difficult. I’ve had a credit line for three months that they still are not reporting. And this credit score is so skewed compared to a standard FICO score. This is not what lenders use at all.
  • App Updates Frustrating

    By Magic Bendy
This app worked fine for the few years I’ve been using it. But recently, it would not allow me to log on via the app from my iPhone X. Multiple updates failed to include the iPhone X; so the app became useless to me and remained so for weeks, leading into months. They’ve finally updated the app to include the iPhone X; but they need to do better on their updates. At the time of this writing, and when the issue started, my phone isn’t even 2 years past its introduction, and my OS version is always up to date. It’s not like I was using an iPhone 6 or something that was several years old. So I’ve adjusted my review up from one star to three; but won’t take it higher, because, going forward, their developers need to do better with the app updates. Other apps don’t become useless with updates.
  • This company’s motive is questionable.

This “service” provides people with a means to track financial progress. It’s not clear what that progress is. The app is ad supported encouraging its users to take on more debt. Becoming debt free is always the goal so I question the “progress” they’re trying to help with. Credit scores and reports are available for free directly on Transunion and Equifax websites. Ideally, a zero credit score would be best as your credit score is nothing but a number indicating how much you’ve played kissy face with lenders over the years. And every one of them has made financial gains on your money through interest. If you need to use debt for a purchase, you can’t afford it. Bottom line.

    Love it, live by it!
  • Good but could be better

I wish Experian was included. Credit Karma seems to be pretty accurate, sometimes it seems that the scores are a little lower than what other sources are reporting.
