  • Brought some fun and excitement to get me out of a running rut

This app has breathed new life into my stale running route! The story is interesting, the voice acting is good, and collecting supplies/building your base is fun!
  • Makes running better

I could never get into exercising, but once I started using this app back in 2015 I really got into it and got way healthier thanks to it. Thank you Abel township 👍🏻
  • Need Apple Watch Love

Bought this app when they just released season 1. Got me into distance running and I even trained and completed a marathon with it. I would give it 5 stars for the experience and the motivation. I’m just hoping that they fix their Apple Watch functionality, so I can run without my phone. Sounds trivial, but I never run with my phone anymore and it’s the only thing keeping me from using this app 3-4 times a week instead of once a month. ***please, please, please make it a standalone on Apple watch***
  • AMAZING!!!!

I love it and now i actually want to run!
  • Great Concept, Poor Implementation

    By Spance
Good story, fun idea. Definitely a good way to make workouts more fun. Unfortunately, there are a few cumbersome things that make this app difficult to use. 1. You can’t listen to Apple Music. I know this is a DRM issue, but the app does not work well at all when you use the workaround of having music play outside the app. Can’t skip songs, app randomly stops working, etc. This caused me to stop using the app for a while. 2. Why do I need to create an account with an independent login when I have a subscription through iTunes? Why is this not integrated with my iTunes account? You figured out how to integrate payment, why not access to maps and other account features? This is keeping me from returning to the app today. I want to use this app, I want to love it, but these few roadblocks are making it unusable.
  • Needs an added feature

Love the app. Super fun. Would love if you add a feature where you take a picture and it automatically adds zombies chasing you! I created my own version!
  • AMAZING!!!

This is an AWESOME app! I’m not a runner but this MAKES me want to go out and do 3-4 miles just to keep up with the storyline. Even doing work at short distance face pace is more fun with the chases. I was hesitant to pay for the extra features but when I found myself bored on a run and thinking about it...it was the first thing I did when I got back! Great idea...Great story...Great concept! Thanks for making me WANT to go running!

  • Used to be great, but the story has suffered since season 5

I loved Zombies Run - it's helped me go from not running to doing 2-3 5K runs per week, and really helped me implement a lifestyle change. In the first three seasons, I loved the writing (some episodes are a little silly, but by and large it's compelling), loved the voice acting, and loved the base building. Be sure to listen to radio mode too - it adds a lot to the experience and some depth to the world. I typically do a half hour run listening to an episode, followed by half an hour walk with radio mode, which works perfectly for me. However, three things have happened in the last few seasons that irk me greatly. First, the timeline has become inconsistent - all the cultural references indicate the zombie outbreak was meant to be contemporaneous with the release of season 1, circa 2011. However, later seasons have available AI and technology that simply wasn’t available in 2011, and this greatly distracts from the immersion in the story. Second, some plot lines have essentially jumped the shark - I can believe in one unbelievable thing (zombies), but don’t introduce additional ones - without providing spoilers, I’d say the Moonchild story ends up at a ridiculous place, as does the Veronica storyline. Finally, there’s too much of the “we’re going to die, oh, phew, we were saved at the last second”. You can get away with that once maybe, but it gets ridiculous after a while. I really hope they can improve the storyline for season 8, and that they plan out multi season story arcs.

Have just recently started working out and I’m enjoying to story and finding the app quite encouraging when it comes to running/fast walking. Have been using for about 5-6 days and enjoying every minute
