you can’t connect with your bank? this is precisely the reason I purchased this app in the first place, the field to select the bank account always throws an error. I want my money back!

This app is good enough for all the needs of a regular household, and is very affordable. I only don’t get 5 stars because it can get sluggish sometimes, and once it crashed and lost some of my data.

I have had no problems with this program… it works exactly as advertised with no drawbacks. I think that those remarking that it doesn’t work either lack the simple computer common sense or they didn’t install it correctly. The installation on a MAC is usually just a 2-step process - not complicated. I got this program because I didn’t want to spend an unreasonable amount of money for a day-to-day bank accounting program. It does everything that I need and expected with no problems. The program is very straight-forward and I have not even needed to access help pages because of the simplicity.

If you want to enter everything manually maybe it is fine. However, if you want to link to your bank account as it claims you can it does not work, just get error messages. Needs bug fixes! Waste of $20!!

I normally dont leave detailed reviews. only star rating, however the developers need to hear this…… I paid the $20 for the app and it was supposably 50% off. I wouldve been more upset if I paid $40 thats for sure. The app does not work, plain and simple. It will not allow you to add accounts (I used from Mac desktop.) All I get with everything is error messages and try again later. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX THE BUGS!

Purchased this to replace the Quicken Essentials app I have used for years but Intuit recently stopped supporting. I need an app that will download the activity from my various banks so that I can stay on top of my bills. By this app’s description, I though it would fit the bill. Unfortunately it will not sync with my Chase account despite multiple attempts over the last week to get my Chase accounts connected (using all the various JP Morgan Chase affiliates in the menu). The ability to automatically sync with my online accounts was the most important feature this app claimed to offer. After finally giving up on getting this synced with Chase automatically, I downloaded my account activity directly from Chase and imported it into this app. Even that did not work. The app treated every transaction in my checking account as a *deposit* rather than a debit. If I can’t even download my account activity and import it, this app is completely useless to me. One of the credit cards I *was* able to sync with the app, loaded in as a debt equal to my credit limit. I rarely use that particular card, I confirmed that it has a zero balance according to the issuer. Counting debits as deposits and credit limits as liabilities are intolerable errors. Save your money. I’m going back to Quickbooks.
  • Not for serious users

I really wish this app came with a free trial period. It looks good, and is really easy to use, but is too simplistic for me. It doesn’t allow splitting transactions into multiple categories, which is essential for anyone who buys lots of different things at one store(unless you like the idea of getting separate receipts for each type of thing you buy. I wouldn’t want to be in line behind you!). Budgeting was easy, but if your budgeted item is a sub-category of, say, household expenses, all household expenses show up against the budget, not just the one specified in the budget. What good is that?! So, if you just want the most basic money tracking, then this might be for you. But if you want to actually accomplish something with a home accounting program, look elsewhere.
  • Too many errors

Now I like the idea of this product and the layout of it. But that’s all it has going for it, do you want to hook all your accounts up to it to monitor all your financials from one spot? Well forget that idea with this app, nothing but error codes left and right while trying to link accounts.
  • Poor individualized customer support

I am beyond frustrated. Multiple emails to feedback support still without resolution. Bought $19.99 Money for MAC and still totally unusable 2 weeks later. I updated and followed all recommended tips. I have a profile on my iCloud (from my other devices in apps that I also paid for separately) that I can see in the Money for MAC app but I am UNABLE to click on it as it stays gray- doesn't hyperlink. Clearly my iCloud is syncing the name of the profile but why why can't I click on it!?! More importantly I would expect customer support should be able to address my problem more efficiently than just copying me to whats available through support guide- which doesnt address my issue...

I’ve been using this app for almost a year and it is refined enough now to work flawlessly between my Mac, iphone, and ipad (latter two with IOS app versions). While I don’t have it automatically linking to my banking account, it has proved to be an indispensible tool for me in monitoring and recording my expenditures. It is not the simplest app to use, but perhaps the somewhat greater complexity accounts for its scope.
