Kansas City Star News App Reviews

  • App stinks, content is great

    By Bob is Right
I love the content. I can log in via a browser on the same device I want to login via the app. I have no issues logging in and they have no issue collecting my monthly subscription fee. But this app tells me I need to reset my password due to a new version then rejects my password change. So the app is useless.
  • The app has bugs.

If you leave the app in the background to look up something in an article, say an address on Google Maps, for example, and return to the app, you don’t return to the article you were reading. It resets and you wind up at the Top Stories header with the #1 story in the background. It’s very, very annoying and I’m uninstalling the app.
  • Essential part of KC

The Star, even with the cutbacks over past few years, continues to be a source of great journalism. The investigative projects & editorial columns are key strengths to the paper.
  • Very disruptive ads

    By Jadwin
The color ads of reality photos disrupt the reading experience severely. They are at odd locations, and have tons of blank space near them. It’s 2018, and this is our online experience? It’s the graphic equivalent of strip zoning on State and Metcalf Avenues.

  • Hometown paper

I’ve lived away for many years. Helps me get caught up
  • I enjoy the Star

Great old school journalism. This nice local paper deserves our support. Pony up the very affordable subscription rate and help make our local paper better.
  • Poor Quality Control on Updates

    By Nexadad
It would be nice if after an update the app wouldn’t lock me out and ignore my login and password. I already pay a lot for a less than average print edition so the loss of the online use begs the question of why do I subscribe.
  • Great App

Great App and good stories about Kansas City
  • Excellent!

I am from Kansas City, Missouri. I retired from the United States Navy after serving 20 1/2 years. So it is awesome for me to see what is going on in the city that I called home for 18 years. Outstanding coverage of the Kansas City area! And of course I remain a Chiefs & Royals fan forever! Eugene Swinney
