  • Disappointed

So disappointed in the fact that what I used for quick news I now have to pay for. I don’t have time to sit and watch the news so I would usually read bits on PennLive. Now that we have to pay a monthly fee is crazy. You get the app for free but then if you don’t read the fine print, you’ll just get an annoying ad when you click on a story. Guess I will be looking elsewhere for my local news.
  • Needs to be a 0 star rating

This app will now be permanently deleted from all of my devices since it is now blocking access to articles until I pay a monthly subscription fee of $15. That’s $180 a year. Hopefully that sinks in with people and they don’t waste their money on this.
  • Too little for too much

$15 a month? I’ve taken to bypassing anything that looks sports related- not at all interested- unfortunately my app was full of this. Each day I’d try to refresh the app to see if there were any new things of interest, instead it would be full of yesterdays or last weeks articles.
  • Paying

I think it’s ridiculous that in order to read the articles, there is a charge. Not going to happen!!!
  • Way too much football and PSU

    By Royal8Pain
Way too much football and PSU. App is buggy, crashes, articles persist for days. New in 2019 is a $15/month paywall. Coverage is worth $.99 per month or $9.99 annually-priced exorbitantly high.
  • $15 per month vastly overpriced

    By JosephE
Although I appreciate Penn Live’s reporting, the truth of the matter is that they have no real local competition as far as newspapers go. However, there are plenty of other local news outlets which offer either free or much-reduced pricing. What is sad is that I actually subscribe to the Sunday paper and still would have to pay this exorbitant fee. This entity is really fooling themselves if they think the average central Pennsylvanian will shell this out. I will stick with the tv apps.
  • Not free

Now this terrible news outlet and poorly developed app wants to charge people $15 a month! Are the developers high? I wouldn’t pay 15 cents let alone 15 dollars. Goodbye pennleft
  • Awful

The navigation of this app is awful
  • Poor at best

Refuse to pay their price for mostly sports and Penn State articles. Far too many sports articles seem to last forever. One last complaint. Does anyone proof read the articles before there posted??
