  • Help with Marine Corps training

    Training peaks has been phenomenal! I was training myself, but ended up getting stress fractures about 5 months before I had to go to Marine Corps OCS. I’ll admit, I was panicking since I had to stop running for many weeks and had to get back into top running shape when it healed in April. I talked to some friends and had someone recommend getting a coach to help with workouts that would help me ease back into running after I healed. The coach I have is named Billy Edwards. He had to get creative with the workouts that would build my running back up without causing another injury and I am so incredibly proud of the results I’ve seen.

    TP is a great platform. Got the app to sync with several other training related apps so all the stats are automatically uploaded to TP for coach analysis. Def a must have IMO.

    This is the best software ever! Loading a workout from my Garmin is automatic. Their concept of TSS is one of the best tools to maximize injury free performance at all levels. My goal is to win Kona and know what time I need to get there. Converting that to a TSS CTL score by race day at least let’s me know I’m in the game!

    Though many think TP is for Triathletes it’s not it for many other sports, yes it took me to the finish line of 5 x 70.3 Ironman and one 140.6 but the app specious the pro version is an all round training support tool
  • Training peaks is the benchmark

    If you are working with a coach, training peaks really is the benchmark. If you are self coaching, training peaks becomes a necessity to keep yourself on track and measure your progress. It is easy to use, flexible and dependable. The only issue I have is, (I think), you still need the desktop version to do things like add new equipment. I track my shoe miles, so I need to add new shoes to my list and remove old ones. I haven’t figured out how to do this from the app. I also wish I could push workouts back to Garmin Connect to simplify getting them into my watch. Right now I have to fumble finger them in manually.
