Our enthusiastic customers range from hobbyists to professional astronomers, and everyone in between. Whether you want to admire ancient constellations, watch satellites soaring overhead, find out what that brilliant dot is on the horizon, or recreate eclipses, Luminos has what you need. Browse the largest deep space image catalog of any mobile app, anywhere, or track 3D meteor showers now or from the past. Travel through time, identify craters on the moon, fly through space, watch the solar system in motion from high above, or see the multitudes of asteroids orbiting perilously close to our planet. Hold Luminos up against the sky and it will effortlessly guide you to find any star or planet. You can even get live sky charts and satellite alerts on your Apple Watch! Luminos makes it all easy and fun. Instead of buying many apps to get all of these features, Luminos includes everything in one low price. No question. This is the best Astronomy app I've used.
  • The best star app on iOS App Store!!!

    By Altair Abdul Khabir (Kyle)
I’ve tried many, many, many iOS and Android astronomy and star apps for multiple purposes, such as finding constellations, tracking satellites and the ISS, determining rising and set times of the moon and sun, the planets, stars and deep sky objects, as well as using it for polar alignment assistance (not the actual alignment to polaris but 3 star alignment afterwords). Out of all the other apps, Luminos goes ABOVE and beyond my expectations and requirements for an astro app, and being an amateur astronomer and avid astrophotographer, I certainly have a decent list of requirements. The fluidity, dexterity and sheer depth of knowledge available in Luminos is mind blowing. What’s even more awesome is that you can fly to planets and other solar system objects, their moons and satellites, and even land on some surfaces, and the graphics take full advantage of iPhone’s gpu! The only negatives I could find is #1, for first time users, Luminos can be a little overwhelming and a tad bit difficult to navigate initially, but it won’t take long to start getting to grips with the power that lies before you. #2, and it may just be a problem inherent to my individual iPhone, but occasionally Luminos will crash after prolonged use, but just requires a restart. Overall, it’s worth the hefty pricetag of $19.99 and certainly takes full advantage of the iPhone architecture and processing abilities. Major kudos to WobbleWorks!

Very beautiful app , well done. U tube videos to help learn the app although it is very intutive. I am highly recommending this to anyone who has an interest in Astronomy.

A few days after downloading this app, I sat at my iPad and deleted several apps that I had been utilizing for years. This app replaced them all and for less money than the others combined.

Best app I've used. A little expensive but well worth the money.
  • The most honest astronomy app

    By groupoid
I bought this app about 6 years ago, it was on sale and the price was maybe $5, and the version was pretty early. Since then, it has become the most advanced astronomy app on iOS. It was very entertaining to see how the authors of “sky safari” add marginal improvements and charge $20 for the new version, and the developers of Luminos add real terrain simulation and largest offline star catalogue for free, years after the app was released. I also admire iPad Pro support. If the authors decide to make a Mac version I would probably buy it, if anything, to support their work.
  • Navigating by Stars

Finally I have found a celestial program where I can by name find (and now actually have an instant list of) the 57 stars recognized in the Nautical Almanac. This may appear on the face of it a trivial use of such a clearly capable program - however none of the other "paid for" celestial apps can do this, or even when asked and financially encouraged bother to make a list available in the app. Admittedly I had to list the stars from the Almanac in a custom list - it's not a built-in (hint - hint!) but that is a small ask. So, if you, as I use a sextant and an Nautical Almanac, this is the program for you.
