Luminos App Description

Luminos is the award-winning, all-in-one astronomy app that goes beyond simple stargazing by combining millions of celestial objects into a beautifully-rendered space simulation to amaze you! Our enthusiastic customers range from hobbyists to professional astronomers, and everyone in between. And now, Luminos features the largest catalog available on mobile, with more than 113 million stars! Whether you want to admire ancient constellations, watch satellites soaring overhead, find out what that brilliant dot is on the horizon, or recreate eclipses, Luminos has what you need. Browse the largest deep space image catalog of any mobile app, anywhere, or track 3D meteor showers now or from the past. Travel through time, identify craters on the moon, fly through space, watch the solar system in motion from high above, or see the multitudes of asteroids orbiting perilously close to our planet. Hold Luminos up against the sky and it will effortlessly guide you to find any star or planet. You can even get live sky charts and satellite alerts on your Apple Watch! Luminos makes it all easy and fun. Instead of buying many apps to get all of these features, Luminos includes everything in one low price. There are no in-app purchases to nibble away at your wallet and there's no advertising to distract you from views of the heavens. When you're ready to go even further, Luminos will be ready with you. If you're fortunate enough to have a computer-controllable telescope, then Luminos can command it for you to find objects quickly and easily. Detailed data on every object is easily available within Luminos, even without an Internet connection. Powerful planning tools help you make the most of your evenings by showing you exactly what will be visible tonight or any night in the future. Get out there and start exploring! • Best Astronomy app ever!!!!!!!!!

    By Isaac Boswell
This app is crazy!!! 1000s of deep sky objects excluding NGC, over 113+ million stars, incredibly detailed views of all major objects in or solar system, ISS and satellite tracking and so much more. This truly is the best Astronomy app ever.

    Absolutely amazing app!
  • Illuminating Luminos!

I haven’t gotten beyond the most basic of things yet, having gotten it within the last couple weeks f weeks, but I’m already completely besotted with this app! I just love it! The viewing and information is excellent, I happily visit all the planets, and have been watching the tutorials on YouTube. Whoever does the voice-over on those is to be commended - this person has a soothing but not boring or bored mein. I’m both A. ignorant of a lot of the programme; and 2. there is no sound, none at all. That is a little odd, to me, having used SkyView so long. This is much better than that app, but it needs...something. Thank you, Aislínge Kellogg
  • Love it.

Money well spent. I have been looking for an app like this. I am a student of physics and astronomy. I love this app so much.
  • Not stable, not what I expected - NO REFUND

    By Wheaser48
Buyer beware. Tried app for one day and was disappointed in that it crashed every time when looking up Jim Kaler star data, night vision mode doesn’t work for wiki star data, not intuitive to use, etc. I just didn’t like the app after being a long time Sky Safari user. Found that the app is a non-refundable type. Never had a problem with refunds - ever. Wouldn’t have bothered with the review if I wasn’t ripped off for over $25.

No question. This is the best Astronomy app I've used.
  • The best star app on iOS App Store!!!

    By Altair Abdul Khabir (Kyle)
I’ve tried many, many, many iOS and Android astronomy and star apps for multiple purposes, such as finding constellations, tracking satellites and the ISS, determining rising and set times of the moon and sun, the planets, stars and deep sky objects, as well as using it for polar alignment assistance (not the actual alignment to polaris but 3 star alignment afterwords). Out of all the other apps, Luminos goes ABOVE and beyond my expectations and requirements for an astro app, and being an amateur astronomer and avid astrophotographer, I certainly have a decent list of requirements. The fluidity, dexterity and sheer depth of knowledge available in Luminos is mind blowing. What’s even more awesome is that you can fly to planets and other solar system objects, their moons and satellites, and even land on some surfaces, and the graphics take full advantage of iPhone’s gpu! The only negatives I could find is #1, for first time users, Luminos can be a little overwhelming and a tad bit difficult to navigate initially, but it won’t take long to start getting to grips with the power that lies before you. #2, and it may just be a problem inherent to my individual iPhone, but occasionally Luminos will crash after prolonged use, but just requires a restart. Overall, it’s worth the hefty pricetag of $19.99 and certainly takes full advantage of the iPhone architecture and processing abilities. Major kudos to WobbleWorks!
