Coverage? App Description

Directly overlay and compare cellular carrier coverage maps! Perfect for travelers - research where you're covered across the USA! ** Follow our Facebook page to get update alerts:, or check our support page** Coverage? focuses on helping mobile bandwidth junkies find cell signal as they roam. Save time looking up coverage on the carrier's websites, compare their claims head to head and better plan your travel routing to stay connected. ** The carrier's maps in your pocket: This app contains regional level maps based off of each major carrier's data map - as found on their website as of our last update. Quickly overlay the carriers you use to create your own personalized coverage map on your device. ** No internet needed: Our proprietary coverage maps are stored within the app on your device - no downloading needed! Quickly access where you're supposed to get a signal, even when you have none. ** Urban and rural areas: Maps are at a regional level, and cover the entire continental USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. ** Carriers included: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile ** Know where to roam: view LTE, '4G' (HSPA+), 3G, 2G and roaming areas as inclusive overlays, focus on finding the coverage type you desire. Check for a quick video demo. We created this app because we are full time 'technomads' ourselves who rely on mobile data to work remotely. Keeping this app updated is a priority for us, as we depend on it ourselves! -------------- Coverage FAQ: Q: Why aren't the maps more detailed or released more often? A: Our map updates require a lot of meticulous labor intensive processing. There's just no practical way to issue a new update everytime a new tower is turned on. We monitor new coverage and try to find balance between effort & staying current. This generally means at least a couple updates a year. Q: What makes 'Coverage?' unique? A: There are great apps out there that collect user submitted signal reports - we recommend them and use them ourselves. However, those apps are only useful in markets with an active user base. We took a different approach with Coverage? - we needed a tool to at least give us an idea of where signal should be - urban, rural, and out in the boonies. Sure, carrier maps aren't a guarantee of where signal actually is, but it sure is helpful to know which direction to head when you need it! -------------- Named 'Essential Tool' by Wired Magazine ** Winner - 'Most Useful App' - iOSDevCamp "this app can be indispensable" - -------------- The maps in 'Coverage?' are provided in partnership with Mosaik Solutions, and represent proprietary interpretations of the coverage reported by each carrier. You should not rely on the maps in Coverage to be perfectly precise or absolutely timely. Ongoing map updates have been free - but to support the ongoing development costs, we now allow customers to subscribe to higher resolution maps that will be updated more frequently. Coverage does not report or predict signal strength (there are great apps out there for that!). We can make no promises as to where you'll *actually* get signal.. there are too many variables - towers, device, terrain, weather, etc. So… Got Coverage? Additional information about The HD Maps Subscription: This is an auto-renewable subscription, with a duration of one year. The subscription fee will be charged to your iTunes account upon confirmation of purchase, and will automatically renew each year unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Current subscriptions may not be canceled during the active subscription period; however, you can manage your subscription and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting your iTunes Account Settings after purchase. • Disappointing

    By 81heel
We live in an area with notoriously spotty coverage, and I was hoping that the app would show which areas actually have good coverage. Instead the entire community shows up as having coverage. Paid the extra $5.00 subscription and downloaded the HD maps, but no difference.
  • Serious issues, unresponsive developers

    By jeremiahvia
I paid money to upgrade to the HD maps yet every time I use this app I get the notification to upgrade. I cannot see the HD maps. If I click on the option to upgrade it fails saying I already have a subscription. So which is it? The App Store confirms that I have subscription. I have tried reaching out to the developer and got one unhelpful response and no follow ups to my replies. Honestly a waste of money.
  • Awesome app. When's the next update?

    WHENS THE NEXT UPDATE?????!!!!! 😠
  • Not 100% Reliable

    By KSacco
My husband and I have been on the road now for 2 months and at first I was all about this app, there are some areas that appear to be spot on but, the more I use it though the less reliable and accurate I realize it is. The last two campgrounds we chose this app had clear LTE service and we arrived with 1 bar if that of 4G. Decent, but not trust worthy enough for it to be your only source of finding coverage when needed for working full time on the road.
  • Hit or miss

    By BDawg (aka Godfather)
The map data is very hit or miss. I’m smack-dab in the middle of an area that reports it should have strong coverage and I’m reporting “no service”. This is now the second time this has happened to me. Unfortunately for me, as I travel full-time, I’ve relied on this to make decisions of where to go and now I’m stuck trying to figure out if I “commute” to a place that actually has service so that I can work, or do I break my campground reservation and find another spot. Often times the app is correct, but for the times it’s not, it really makes me question all of the data I’m seeing.
  • Fantastic and always updated!

    By Kleinias
This is the very definition of a 5 - star app. Useful and constantly updated every few months. I paid for this app years ago and it’s been updated regularly. Update: It's great that the developers are continually updating this application, they implementing useful features and this app is definitely worth a good look. Update: looks like the developers just updated the app to include AT&T 4G information. I'm hoping to see future updates with more detailed coverage and even more importantly, roaming coverage in Canada for Verizon & AT&T. This application does what it says and does it competently. Updates like more detail, higher resolution maps and a search function would be very helpful. Showing additional coverage in Canada for AT&T and Verizon would also be useful. Hoping to see more updates soon!
  • Great app

    By Will 89 89
This app is great - the only thing I would add/change is that it should say what type of roaming there is (LTE/ HSPA+/3G/2G, and voice and text only), because for example, T-Mobile has only voice/data roaming in some areas, HPAA+ in some areas and LTE in some areas. That is the only area where there could be improvement.
  • Verizon accuracy

    By Ken4863
Not. Other carriers are probably more accurate and honest.
  • Handy app at times but HD maps don’t work

    By Mdrudy01
Handy but can’t find how to contact developers after restoring HD purchase without success.
  • Surprisingly useful

    By stinkypete2021
This is a great app I’ve used for years. I work for the cellular industry and am constantly surprised how accurate these maps are (knowing how the original source maps are created by the carrier). The developer is regularly updating the app (thanks for X support!) and has not implemented ads or other user unfriendly things. The upgrade subscription is the only additional thing some people like me would want. I’m slowly starting to accept subscription models as developers need a consistent revenue to fund their operations. Totally recommend for the curious and almost required for anyone in the cellular industry!
