Dictionary.com Pro Learn Words App Reviews

  • Waste of Money

I got this because they said the word I was looking for is only available in the pro version well it turns out the word I was looking for is not in the pro version either. I decided to try and find obscure words that would not be in the free version but should be in a version that costs money and I cannot find a single word in this pro version that you cannot see for free.

  • ADs?!😵😱🤯

I’ve used this dictionary app for years and found it to be useful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I began seeing advertisements several times whenever I read an article, took a quiz, or viewed the words of the day. I thought I mistakenly downloaded the free version, as this is a new iPhone, but it was indeed the Pro version. I deleted the app and I’m purchasing it again- believe me, the app is worth the onetime small fee- and if I continue to see advertisements, I’ll contact customer service.
  • Not “fit” for the I Pad

    By 675§
The app is not formatted for the I Pad. The screen is the size of the I Phone and difficult to use for someone with big fingers .
  • A must have

    By Callifl0205
One of my favorite apps. In fact, this maybe the 2nd review I’ve ever written for an app. The only thing wrong is that we don’t have the ability to sign in to an account and move our favorite list to a new device, or OS. I had to keep me android phone for weeks to copy over all my words. This is such a huge inconvenience and a major oversight. I keep hoping this feature will be added.
  • Best $ Spent

10/2010 update. I paid for not getting ads popping up arbitrarily in the middle of my search, however, since the last update v. 7.5.10 (447), I have noticed that every once in a while, I noticed yesterday and today, ads are popping up and taking up the whole screen! What gives? 05/2018. Is back to FIVE ⭐️. There was a little issue with the 2nd to last update but the developer quickly took care of it. Back to excellent! This is by far, my favorite App! It is easy of use, have wonderful features such as vocal pronunciation... as of 06/2017 I downgraded this app from 5 to 3 stars. 06/26/2017 Back to 5 stars-it has been fixed and I no longer demand my money back! Still my fav; thank you App developers!
  • Widget Needs Some Love

    By The Zohn
As corny as it sounds, I really look forward to getting my Word of the Day every morning. It’s become routine to swipe over to the widget to test my vocab knowledge, and to then use the a widget link to explore the word further if it’s one that’s really piqued my curiosity. That being said, the widget has been a source of frustration for me for a while now. The issues almost always involve freezes, hiccups, yips. Lately, it’s been no different as clicking on “Learn More” whenever I want to, well, learn more about a certain word, it brings me to the doorstep of the app and then it just becomes catatonic. Ultimately, that means I go looking elsewhere for my Word of the Day fix. I’d really prefer not to do that because I’ve been using dictionary.com for years and years, but I need reliability out of my apps! So, whaddaya say? Are you up for squashing some widget bugs?
  • Thanks

If you are fascinated by words, this is the app to have. It’s fun and informative.
  • Why I have to redown load the database everytime I update the app?

    By Henry--Nguyen
It’s really frustrated that I have to down load the dictionary data again otherwise when I ever I use it I must have WiFi or I have to allow this app to use my limited cellular data plan or the app won’t work
  • Tool to have
