Dictionary.com Pro Learn Words App Reviews

  • So good, but it misses the mark

    By Guy without a job
I’ve used this app for a long time and have enjoyed the various educational amenities that the developers offer through it. It is, definitely, a superb tool to have at my disposal when I am seeking diverse language for my professional writing. At times, the articles are very informative. I love it. The downside to the app is the political bias found in numerous articles, many times presented without a solid foundation. It attempts to push an agenda to change culture based on opinion through a medium that is trusted based on its scholastic basis. It insults academia.
  • The app crashes after recent updates.

    By s4mt6
I have been using this dictionary almost everyday. After recent updates, maybe the latest update, the app keeps crashing when any links (ie related vocabularies) are touched in the dictionary. Please fix this bug immediately.

2019/02 Update: The pronunciation tool doesn’t work! 😢 Please fix. I’m still in love with this app-when it works of course!🙃 10/2010 update. I paid for not getting ads popping up arbitrarily in the middle of my search, however, since the last update v. 7.5.10 (447), I have noticed that every once in a while, I noticed yesterday and today, ads are popping up and taking up the whole screen! What gives? 05/2018. Is back to FIVE ⭐️. There was a little issue with the 2nd to last update but the developer quickly took care of it. Back to excellent! This is by far, my favorite App! It is easy of use, have wonderful features such as vocal pronunciation... as of 06/2017 I downgraded this app from 5 to 3 stars. 06/26/2017 Back to 5 stars-it has been fixed and I no longer demand my money back! Still my fav; thank you App developers!
  • It’s ok

    By xj3Lo
Today I read the “word facts” talking about the “difference” between gender and sex. That’s a belief an opinion not facts. Don’t get confused between opinions and facts.
  • No Voice Recognition

    By Peigeyuan
No voice to text to be found. On help, it says there are 100 free, but can’t find the mic icon and no explanation where or how to activate. Frustrating. Otherwise, rest of app is 5 stars.
  • Dictionary

    By Big spur 11
Love it. I've had it for years.
  • Useful, but blatantly run by radical leftists

    By Jakesofhazzard
The app does what you’d expect. It’s a digital version of a dictionary/thesaurus. Only the techy version is loaded down with sneaky “word of the day” that coincides with the days politics. And it’s disgustingly biased toward hating conservatives and propping up the propaganda loving alt-left. In fact today they had a article on a DICTIONARY APP called “decoding the alt-right”. Nice try jerks. I’m an independent person politically and otherwise, but I’d like to be able to AT LEAST use my paid Webster’s app without some MSCNBC fanatic trying to propagandize my feed. An absolute disgrace that you could turn something like this into a political football.👎✌🏾
  • Great

    By W.E.M.
We love this app. Readily accessible with more than enough content. Great for anyone who loves to read, write or do research.
  • Spell pronunciation not working

    By One regular customer
I have purchased the App and I use it. One issue with the version in my iPhone XS Max is that the stressed syllables in Spell Pronunciation are not showing in bold format. Please please fix this.
  • Convenient

    By Marvelous_Christian
I love this app. It’s so handy to use, especially if the Andes or TV are on and you hear an unfamiliar word it’s very close st hand and convenient to use the dictionary app. Have become very dependent upon using this routinly. Love it!!!
