  • Impressive and Progressive

The overall app is very attractive. The graphics are pleasing. The homepage's content makes planning your trip easy. I can get information quickly. It is a leading edge design well-suited to first-time and repeat users. Impressive colors, graphics, photos, etc. I enjoy using the mtrip guides and would highly recommend the app to a friend or colleague.
  • Very helpful

Good use to help u orient yourself in a unfamiliar city when no cellular signal is available. Drawbacks are occasionally spotty gps, a bit pricey, and not many restaurant reviews.

One of the most complete apps, sufficient for the place

Pricey and just gives info from public websites. I would rather use tripit along with other Venice travel planner apps.

  • OK, just wish DigiTrips had Venice

A helpful app but if you are new to Venice don't rely on it alone. The street names aren't shown on the map and GPS doesn't work well at all due to interference. With a map (your hotel will give you one) and a compass you will be fine. If you can't operate a compass you are not reading this.
  • Not Helpful in Venice

    By <3Travel
Useless in Venice. Updates have not helped. I am a frequent traveller to Venice and I've had this app since it came out...thinking it might improve over time. But the truth is this app is superficial, overpriced, and frankly seriously overrated. 1. The map of Venice in this application is useless- you can not zoom in or see any street names. This also destroys the entire route-planning aspect of the trip planner. 2. Without the map and the route planner, the suggested sights, though interesting, are really no better or more detailed than any other App. (But this one is more expensive.) 3. No directions to Anything?! This app lists lots of restaurants and bars, but there are no directions on how to get there beyond the bad map. Bummer. 4. OUT DATED (already??!) restaurant and bars listings. I don't know who's actually inputting ratings and Info into this App, but I discovered more than one bar/restaurant that has been closed for over a year. 5. ZERO practical information. Nothing about public transport or train stations or anything you might need to know to actually get around in Venice.
  • Doesn't support hotel entry

    By RowanF
Okay, I admit I am reviewing this after having it for five minutes. Our hotel wasn't listed so I clicked on "Add a Place". I entered the name and all the relevant information and clicked "add". It says "ERROR Please enter the name of the place and set its location on the map". I'm sorry but the point of getting a map app is to be able to find addresses. All that information I painstakingly added is going to be lost and I still won't have my hotel in their database since the only choice besides "add" is "cancel". No idea how I am supposed to "set its location on the map". Also whilst there is a place for email there is no place to list the hotel's web site which seems like an incredible oversight. And as others have mentioned there are no actual street names on the map. I really can't imagine how this app will be in the least useful.
  • Must have

This is a must have app. It saved me soooo much time and effort and only $6!
  • Get a good travel book instead

Bought this guide on first day of 5 day trip to Venice in Jan. 2011. Maps - Venice is very confusing and the map is of little help. Not much details - most paper maps are way more useful. This was most disappointing part of app. Info on attractions - A scant paragraph on even the top attractions. Custom planner - We didn't really use even though this is probably the app's biggest selling point. Comments - Most disappointed about map. Woefully detail-poor making it useless for street/canal navigation. Instead, we (regrettably) used paper maps. Our DK guide book, was far more useful in info, navigation, etc. even though it weighs a kilo. Also, found Rick Steve's free, downloadable podcasts much more informational and enjoyable.
