Meetup App Description

Meetup brings people together in thousands of cities to do more of what they want to do in life. It is organized around one simple idea: when we get together and do the things that matter to us, we’re at our best. And that’s what Meetup does. It brings people together to do, explore, teach and learn. For example, people run marathons, thanks to running Meetups. They write, thanks to writing Meetups. They change their careers, thanks to career Meetups. Because at Meetups, people welcome each other. They talk, help, mentor, and support each other – all in pursuit of achieving their life goals. Featured by Apple in “Best New Apps” and “Great Free Apps” Some popular Meetups include: Tech Meetup groups Moms Meetup groups Dads Meetup groups Fitness Meetup groups Hiking Meetup groups Career and Networking Meetup groups Support Meetup groups Book Club Meetup groups Photography Meetup groups New in Town Meetup groups Social Meetup groups Dog Meetup groups Language Meetup groups and 1,000s more Subscription plans: Want to start a new Meetup and become an organizer? Anyone who wishes to organize a Meetup may subscribe through the app. An organizer subscription entitles you to create up to three Meetups with an unlimited number of members and co-organizers. Meetup offers 1-month and 6-month subscription plans based on the location of your Meetup. Prices for Meetups created in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia: Unlimited 1-month: $14.99 All other countries: Unlimited 1-month: $9.99 Unlimited 6-month: $29.99 Your subscription will be charged to your iTunes Account once you confirm your purchase and will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes Account settings. Meetup App Reviews

  • An App to Meet People

I love MeetUp. It's safe and definitely more effective than dating apps that offer connections for friends. You get to see what events are close to you, join the group and then the event. I was in a new area, didn't know anybody and through this app I've met a lot of great people. We're buddies ever since and if it wasn't for Meetup, I wouldn't have had such wonderful experiences. I'm a homebody and this app is very eye opening and thankfully the people using the app are genuine outgoing people who have a zest for life and a heart for more friends. So yes definitely pleased. On that note, my only suggestion would be to fix the notifications! Since the last update, my icon badge doesn't show anything and when I tap I see I have notifications.

I’d like to see a feature which helps users to understand any scheduling conflicts. If I accept Meetups at the same time, on the same day, I’d like for this to be raised to my attention as an FYI. I’d find it helpful if there was travel time between the two events, so that I may choose to split my time and attend both.

I like the app, but why can’t I get rid of the notification circle?!
  • iPad support still broken

Still terrible on iPad. And on iPad, the App Store doesn’t even list it by default. How can that be good for Meetup?
  • Super Frustrated Organizer

Why is there no iPad app? I am trying to manage my group from the iPhone app on an iPad, and let me tell you, it is PAINFUL. The interface is slim and Portrait-mode only, the forward and backward functionality is limited as is the editing functions. It’s hard even to find events to edit or create them. Please create an app for iPad. In the meantime, I’m going back to the website.
  • App keeps getting worse

Everything is cached wrong. I get notifications about new comments or photos uploaded, so I click and see nothing updated. Oops you have to manually pull down to refresh, such a bad UX.
  • Zero support, zero usefulness

No one responds to support emails and the service overall isn't very useful, just like the app.
  • Meet up is great!

Have found many interests and potentials to pursue on here, the app works very well and is organized just right.
  • HORRIBLE NEW VERSION!

Sorry to say but the recent changes have made this app extremely frustrating to use - NOT user friendly at all - very difficult to find events, discussions, an actual calendar etc. For this reason, I refuse to download the app at all
