  • This update is a big step backward for security

The update force me to turn on account recovery. Clicking no on the option just opened up a browser window to logmein but would not allow me to continue. Really? I’m paying for lastpass and I try to opt out and I’m redirected to the logmein? I couldn’t proceed and access my vault without turning on the account recovery. In addition I could find no information about how account recovery works, and if my password can be recovered I can’t see how that can happen without compromising security. I hoped that I had a small encrypted database, that can only be decrypted by my password, which never gets saved anywhere. With account recovery I don’t see how this is the case. This seems a security vs convince trade I do not wish to make.

  • Passwords randomly disappear and company refuses to refund me

As the title says. It’s happened twice. This is garbage. Also, LastPass doesn’t offer refunds. It’s company policy. Do Not support a company that does this! Horrible customer service.

My ever-faithful password app is no longer supported. I’ve read heard some great things about LP, so I download & store a few to try it out along with a few others. All goes well for a bit so I start doubting the bad reviews. My phone stops recognizing my left thumbprint so I reenter it. Then I update several of my apps. Decide to finally go all in with LP. Go to LP… “Please enter (master) password.” Doesn’t recognize it. Exhaust attempts, try recovery, exhaust attempts, recovery doesn’t work, exhaust attempts, delete, reinstall, reenter three times & it finally recognized it. Why on earth would I pay $36/yr for this?!? Now I’m back to searching for a secure pw app that WORKS.

Subscribed to LastPass 3 years ago. It was $12/year. Then they doubled the rate to $24/year the next year. Year after that they were hacked. Now they are tripling the rate to $36/year. They are gouging consumers. I will vote with my dollars...See ya!
