  • Lack of Attention to Detail

Match’s lack of attention to detail within this app is quite jarring and inexplicable given the paid nature of the service. The following issues call into question Match’s sincerity in supporting this service. 1. When scrolling through the ‘Home’ tab, page refreshes are performed in a way that makes you lose your place. 2. Daily Matches frequently contains users with no profile pictures 3. Does not support universal links. So when you get a ‘Match by Mail’ email and click view profile, it directs you to mobile website as opposed to the mobile app. Universal links were created to solve this exact problem. 4. Does not allow you to close a profile picture by swiping down on it. The only way to close a profile picture is to click the tiny ‘Close’ button at the top left. This is particularly annoying on larger iPhones.

Can’t join match... it’s always say that can’t join right now due heavy internet traffic. ALWAYS!!! I tried different days and times, day or night - you can’t get on a site👎

I'm not one of those people who gives one star reviews all the time. This is a rare dishonor. Let's start with the inscrutable UI. Nowhere is anything ever explained. Ever. Even the online help is useless. It's a UI minefield. You have no idea what tapping on anything might do. If I tap the heart does it notify them that an organ is available? How about liking? What does that do? Whoops. That sent an email to their grandparents (probably; who knows?!) Then the matching is pointless. Unlike okcupid which at least can base matching on answering lots of questions, here it matches on the barest of details, so you end up "matching" with all sorts of randos. Did you pick an age range? We don't care. Distance? How about this gal from across the country? STAY AWAY!!!! Absolute garbage. I even paid for stuff and it was no better.

It’s time for match to retire. Recommendations and searches don’t “match” your criteria. A lot of wasted time and money. I paid for 3 months and cancelled with 81 days left. That’s how bad it is.
  • Waste of money.

Match does a great job of making it seem like every single in the world is here. But not so much. At least not the ones you’re interested in. They are also pretty good at completely ignoring your preferences when suggesting matches.

With the newest update, I am no longer able to see when the people who viewed me or liked me were last “active”. Miss that feature, thought it was useful info. UPDATE: I am still able to see who viewed me, but can no longer see WHEN that person was active.
  • 1/2 the profiles are Fakes/Scammers!

You watch their cute optimistic commercials and think “Great! I should be on Match”. What they don’t tell you in their commercials is that half of the profiles (at least for the 40-65 age group) are FAKE. They all have the same stats in their profile: widower, engineers, masters degrees, and they make 150k+. They all tell you that you have a “lovely smile” and “look forward to read from you”. Match doesn’t have the sophistication in their software (or doesn’t care) to prevent the thousands of these harassers from using their system. I was spending everyday reporting them. Waste of time when more and more show up everyday. I’m done with Match. It’s a ripoff.

I’m just trying to cancel my subscription and I have yet to find a single person willing to help.
  • Scam

For 10+ years match.com has been ripping off subscribers with “auto renewal.” When using the app they intentionally bury the “turn off auto renewal “ option so you are not able to stop your credit card from automatically being billed. This includes disabling your password so you are not able to turn off the feature. If you have encountered this scam you can fight back by joining our class-action law suit.

Ok , so I will start with … yes I met someone on match . We dated for just over two years . I had signed up and within a week a woman messaged me . We interacted several times before we met everything was smooth . It got somewhat serious , talks of moving in together . We broke up after two years . Obviously not Match’s fault . But this is were it gets interesting … So after licking my wounds , about 4 months . I decided to join match again . I figured , hey it got me in a relationship before . But being a little hesitant, I only signed up to browse (non-subscription) , besides I had just gotten out of a relationship . So within the first week I must of received 20 or 30 winks , likes , messages or some sort of correspondence . However I couldn’t check them because I wasn’t paying for the site . So my curiosity got the better of me . So I signed up for the match guarantee 6 month plan . Basically so I could see what the messages and so on were . Like I said , the combination had been close to 30 . Only 1 or 2 were legit . The rest of them were deleted users . Now ask yourself , why would someone send a message and then delete their account in less than a week ? I will even give you 1 or 2 , but not 20 something . The only thing I can come up with is that employees of match or they hire outsiders to create these fake profiles to send likes and messages so that free members will pay to review the messages . I will try to wrap this up quickly but here is something that helps prove my case . I did everything required for the guarantee and continued my membership for a full year . In that time I may have had a couple responses to my messages . I have to add , I read their profiles and commented accordingly , shared common interest and was sincere . But most of my messages went unread , those that were read went unanswered . My mailbox stayed pretty much empty for that year . THE DAY AFTER MY SUBSCRIPTION ENDED , I AGAIN HAD 20 - 30 LIKES , MESSAGES OR WINKS . But at that time I could no longer check them . MATCH YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES , GOING AFTER PEOPLE THAT ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR LOVE AND YOU SCAM HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FROM THEM !!! SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE . TAKE THE $20 -$40 A MONTH AND TREAT YOURSELF TO A NICE MEAL , WHO KNOWS , YOU MIGHT JUST MEET SOMEONE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY , IN PERSON .
