App Reviews

  • Terrible app and terrible customer service

The app: daily matches are typically 11 out of 12 not with in the parameters I’ve set as interests. If I pick slender I get 10 fatties. Most of the women do not respond to messages. If you send 50 messages to introduce yourself you might get 1 response. They offer March events and get togethers however there are never any in your area. And I live in a large city. The kicker: They offered 6 months free if you signed up and did not find someone in your first 6 months. So after 6 months I asked for my free 6 month extension and was told ‘because you purchased your membership through apple the free 6 month extension is unavailable “. What kind of crap is that? Customer service just said no! No attempt to make me happy as a customer or compromise and the customer service agents are in some far away countries that are barely understandable. Buy at your own risk. Edit: after contacting customer service about their false advertising 3 times for the 6 month offer I finally get a positive response after posting this review and calling them out? All the times called or messaged customer service their response was “we will not do anything for you”. Why would you want to keep paying for memberships?

Don’t waste your money on this site.
  • Not great

It’s too complicated to use, the premise of the subscriptions is scammy, and it’s really dumb and inconvenient that you can’t actually delete messages. If you want to appeal to younger audiences maybe try and make the app seem like young people actually helped design it??
  • Doesn’t Back Up 6 month Guarantee

Never again- bought the 6 month membership because match offers a 6 month guarantee but won’t give it to you if you purchase it within the app. Or through any type of Apple IOS product. Total waste of money. Customer service is rude, won’t let you speak to a supervisor and apparently this is an ongoing problem with them that they do. They really don’t have a 6 month guarantee upon further research.

I joined Match on a paid subscription a few days ago, setting my age range and distance parameters as well as spending a lengthy time filling out my information as to complete as thorough a profile I could (after all, I’m looking for that last first kiss here). During the process of building my profile, I had my self ‘not visible’ because I wanted to be sure I was happy with how I was presented prior to being presented (first impressions, ya know?). It auto switched to have me visible 3 times without me clicking it. Not a huge deal, but what gives? Within a short time I was receiving more than half of my inquires out side my age range (I am 30, and age 54 and 71 are not quite what I am looking for), people from out of state were contacting me, and multiple profiles with either one picture, or no picture at all. There seems to be no regulations or catch-alls set here, which I don’t think is too much to ask. Bumble doesn’t even allow bathroom selfies and Match can’t even insure you have a profile picture? Tinder won’t show you people outside your age and distance setting, why does Match ask if it’s not even considered? After asking customer service if there was potential for a refund due to unsatisfied use of the site, I was informed that there was no possible way to get my money back since I had interacted (sent a reply message to someone). I asked if there was anyone I could talk to about being an exception, I was informed that they went ahead and turned off my auto renewal for me and that was all the could do. Nowhere in the conversation was I even asked what I was unsatisfied with. I fully understand that the things I am unsatisfied with are based off of my personal opinion and expectations, and maybe I should open my eyes to someone 30 years outside my range in a different state... After all, they do say love has no age and knows no distance. But if Match could give off a little more of a personalized and customer service based vibe, rather than one where it’s obvious that the only thing they care about was my cc number and auto renewal, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review.
  • Awful use of a service to require add on pay services

First and foremost, I must say that add ins for a paid dating service is tacky. A paid member should have anyone be able to respond.
  • Can I give zero stars?

Customer service is absolutely terrible! There are so many fake profiles which are obviously robots programmed to make you think it's worth paying for the site, or to get you to bite and pay for a subscription. Once your card info is there, good luck canceling your account before the "autorenew" kicks in for you. I cancelled my account twice and still couldn't get my card info deleted. Guess what? Even with the "sorry to see you go but here's your cancellation confirmation" email I STILL GOT CHARGED FOR A RENEWAL. When I contacted customer service, I got a long winded garbage response and through exchanges still haven't been reimbursed for anything!
  • Pay to win

You have to pay to do anything. There are no free options or “trial” type things. As a person who doesn’t make a lot of money this upsets me greatly

It’s kinda of funny. I was a paying member and would accrue 5 or six views a month. The day after I ended my subscription I got 15 views and two emails. Which you can only read if you are a paying member. Funny how that works huh? Giant scam to just get your money. Just go to the dog park or the bar an meet someone there. You’d end up spending less money.
