Skype for iPhone App Description

The Skype you know and love has an all-new design, supercharged with a ton of new features and new ways to stay connected with the people you care about most. What can I do with Skype? • Messaging made awesome: More than just text. Send photos, videos, voice messages, emoticons, Mojis and more. You can also respond to any message from your contacts with reactions. • Great for groups: Add your favorite people and start chatting. Use groups to plan together, play together, for staying in touch or just for hanging out. • Call everyone - Skype, mobiles and landlines: Free* video and voice calls make it easier to stay connected with friends and family. You’ll also enjoy low calling rates to mobiles and landlines worldwide with Skype.  • Never miss a moment with quick capture: Quickly swipe to capture photos and videos. Make them your own by adding emoticons, stickers and annotations. • Share Highlights: Keep others updated with Highlights from your day. React to any highlights with awesome emoticons or send a private message about that highlight. Your highlights only stay visible for 7 days to your followers. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection. Upgrading to the new Skype may result in the deletion of content from older conversations. To save photos and videos that were previously sent or received in an older version of Skype, save that content to your camera roll/photo gallery before upgrading to the new Skype.

  • Hard to navigate

It took me over five minutes to get to the relevant rates page! Why has Skype made it so difficult to find out that information?!! Why not simply show the rate as you enter the number just as you already do with SMS?
  • Better than FaceTime

    By Nicholas.5280feet
I’m not a robot, I’m a real person lol. I’m just going to say I started to use Skype after FaceTime broke on my girlfriends phone and we had to use Skype. Skype is far better than FaceTime. It keeps a steady signal and had better sound. Display isn’t as clear as FaceTime, but the amount of bandwidth FaceTime uses for that “perfect” clear image makes it so laggy and glitch. Skype has a little less quality in the image but it’s constant and doesn’t glitch.

All you need is a good connection so there won’t be any lag in the conversation.

Has a dark mode, runs well, easy to use.
  • Saved our luggage

    By dorken4jesus
My husband and I are traveling in Japan and due to several issues with our airline we found ourselves without our luggage. The Skype app allowed us to call the Japan Airlines baggage tracing center and get some much needed and desired information. Without this app we would have been sitting around for several hours without an answer.

Please make it as a easy chatting software. Please delete the camera entrance. Please show us where we can call a phone or we can have a call by Skype. Please learn from WhatsApp, WeChat, and telegram x.
  • Pretty good but updates are weird

    By Staplesque
Skype makes international calling easy and convenient. I use it for work on computer and phone as backup. Sound is usually clear and clean although the connection can be slow for long-distance calls (e.g. U.S. to India). Also, there are weird little glitches from time to time, and calling multiple numbers has become difficult or impossible with recent updates (that's the reason for the 3 stars rather than 4).
