Skype for iPhone App Description

Skype keeps the world talking. Say “hello” with an instant message, voice or video call – all for free*, no matter what device they use Skype on. Skype is available on phones, tablets, PCs, and Macs. • Video calls – Don’t just hear the cheers, see them! Get together with 1 or 24 of your friends and family on a HD video call. Watch everyone’s smiles and cries when you tell them “We’re engaged!!!"  • Chat – Reach people instantly. Send messages to your friends, grab someone’s attention with @ mentions, or create a group chat to plan a family reunion.  • Share – Send photos and videos with your family and friends. Save shared photos and videos to your camera roll. Share your screen to make travel plans with friends or present designs to your team. • Voice calls – Camera shy? Make voice calls to anyone in the world on Skype. You can also call mobile and landlines at low rates. • Express yourself – Liven up conversations with emoticons, click on the “+” in chat to send a Giphy or images from the web, and annotate images with words, lines and more. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection.

  • What happened to Skype?

I have used Skype for many years to talk with my family and friends abroad. After the last upgrade, the other party can’t see my video, even tho I can see myself in the small square. I tried deleting and reinstalling, and even tho I gave it permission to use the camera, my friends still can’t see me. Skype was always reliable, but now you can’t really count on it. It seems like a good thing is ruined. It’s a sad day.
  • Works Well With 50-mps Wifi

    1) My experience with Skype over the last six years has been very good on both my laptop and my iPhone. 2) With this app on my iPhone, the volume and clarity are particularly good with 50-mps wifi on my end. 3)Some other times, the volume of the other person was a bit low, but I was still able to understand what the other person was saying. 4) For me, the UI is a little confusing. 4.1) This app defaults to a list of recent call numbers without any labels. The numbers are meaningless if I am unfamiliar with them. 4.2) When I want to make a call, there are two icons, a handset receiver and a touch pad. I guess I expect to see one icon. 4.3) When a call is over, I have to touch a left arrow in the upper left-hand corner to get to the screen with a red telephone icon to terminate the call. Why isn’t the icon on the screen from which I’m making the call? 5) Also, when I wanted to add a secondary email address to my account, 5.1) I couldn’t use the app. I had to chat with support and login to their corporate website to make the change. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to use the app to add the secondary email. 5.2) When I read their Help info, it referred to things that aren’t on this app.
  • Another broken Microsoft product

Everything from there application, website and server architecture is broken. There customer service will even agree with you on how much Microsoft has screwed themselves with poor products and extra requirements in order to use their products. Microsoft has even tied the hands of their own customer service staff, they are just as confused on how they are to resolve issues with all the constraints Microsoft has put on them. I'd recommend using any other product than a Microsoft product these days. Microsoft has fallen behind.
