  • Incorrect nutrition facts

    By katiegoneketo
Beautiful UI, easy to use, but there is so much incorrect nutrition information that I have to manually track my macros anyway. It’s insane how wrong so many things are. Needs work, for sure.
  • LOST 50 LBS!!!

I never ever write reviews but this one felt like a must. After I read the reviews and contemplated paying for the $40 yearly subscription, I did. The app and platform itself is simple and aesthetically pleasing, therefore I felt this app would hold me accountable better than I could hold myself accountable. Although I didn’t log food every day and only used a couple recipes, the “update your weight” button kept me motivated to weigh myself everyday and think more consciously about my intake. I also enjoy that my watch activity connects to the platform, adjusting my goal caloric intake based on my plan. After 4 months I am down 50 pounds and I’m not done yet. Thanks Lifesum!
  • Food choices have wrong numbers

    By Sanadon
EDIT: the company reached out and showed me where I could change numbers that were put in by other people. They said I need to let them know about mistakes if the problem is on their side. I’ve learned how to put in my own recipes so this helps tremendously. I’m keeping this app as it’s been a better help to me than any of the others I’ve used. This app started out looking pretty good. But, when choosing my food choices, like the Carl’s Hr 1/3 lb lettuce wrap, it says it’s 166 calories. It’s way more than that. Carl’s Jr. Web site says it is 420 calories. So of course the other numbers are also wrong. I see why they don’t let you really look into the app... no one would purchase a subscription if they knew the numbers were wrong. I won’t be keeping my subscription once it runs out.
  • Easy to use

I absolutely love the ease of this app. The Bella Twins from WWE, shared info about this app. Of course I thought , here goes - another celebrity endorsed product , but it’s a great food diary. The best part is that I can scan in my food items with the barcode scanner. I tried out the free app for a couple weeks and wasn’t bombarded by ads which I was very surprised about. This made me upgrade to the premium app because the makers “got it”. You can get more users when you don’t overwhelm users with ads . Thanks!!!
  • It’s a pretty good app

    By SteffNeff
This app is laid out pretty well, it takes the guess work out of hitting macros and has a pretty large list of single food items in its data base. I have had relatively good luck with the bar code scanner and use that option quite frequently. I have not had luck with the camera option to take photos of your food to upload your meal, but I will keep trying. Something I am pretty disappointed in, since I did purchase the annual subscription, is not having the capability to save my personal recipes and have to upload all of the ingredients every time. I also batch cook quite frequently and it would be nice to use the app to adjust my serving sizes within the recipes I have saved. The app itself is well thought out and easy to use, but if I can’t save my personal recipes for easy access, I will have to switch after my subscription expires. Hopefully it’s updated by then!
  • Great app with some annoying glitches.

    By Lee Lee37295
I love this app. It is very easy to use and track with for my strict keto diet. My main issue is with adding foods for the next day. I often meal prep and input my food the day before so I can plan for the day ahead at work. However, many times I think I am putting in the food for the next day but the app adds the food to the current day instead. It happens over and over again and it takes me twice as long as it should to meal prep. I really hope this can be fixed or an option is added which allows you to change the day and/or meal on the food itself (the weight watchers app allows this). The other issue is the app doesn’t allow me to input my exact macros. The carb macro bar is locked and I can’t always move it. It also counts macros by twos so I don’t get to put it my exact numbers. I hope that is fixed too.
  • Buyer Beware!!!

    By Danimaew
This is a beautiful app but so far barely any of the nutritional information is accurate. I wish I vetted the app better before paying as I really regret this purchase. The team at Lifesum should spend less money on marketing and more on getting he core feature of their product (nutrition information and tracking) accurate. Literally even SCANNING the food’s bar code produces incorrect data, and there’s so way to change or update it, which is incredibly frustrating.
  • Measurements

    By hmp77bk
I wish the app would have cup measurements vs “serving” or OZ. I dont have time to look up and oz of shredded cheddar. Beautiful app though but might go back to Lose It.
  • Encouraging!

    By mrscampy08
I have tried a couple different calorie counting apps but one thing that stands out about this one and not the others is their approach. This app encourages you to get healthy. If you make a good choice it tell you “good job”. If you make a not so good choice it says “that’s ok. There’s always tomorrow “. Most apps in this genre don’t do this and in fact what you do is usually not enough. Trying to change eating habits is anything but fun and it’s nice to have that extra pat on the back.
  • Will Not Sync with Apple Health App

    By NicknameCapone
I really like this app a lot. It’s very nice looking and motivating. I have been a paid subscriber for about 4 years now but am thinking that I might not be renewing this year. I’m not sure if the problem is with the Lifesum app or the Apple Health app, but the nutrition data will just not sync properly from Lifesum to the Health app. I am using the Health app to aggregate all of my health data which syncs properly from my sleep app, glucose app, exercise apps, etc., but not my diet/nutrition app which I consider to be essential for getting a complete health picture. I contacted the developer about this issue but was just told that they were working on it and informed as to how to get a refund and cancel my subscription. That was definitely not the answer I was looking for but may just take them up on it. What I really wanted to hear was a timeframe for getting this right. What I got from the response was that it wasn’t really a priority for them. I would like to know whether it is or not because if it is and they are expecting a breakthrough in the near future I would definitely stick with the app.
