The New York Times App Reviews

  • Paid content blocked by ads

    By ImConvinced
I’m paying for a subscription yet chunks of articles are blocked by ads I can’t get rid of.
  • Advertising blocking parts of paragraphs

    By Disapointed in wesnoth
I pay for a subscription and now, when in portrait view, the advertisements block 2 lines of text, that I cannot read. I am forced to read every store in landscape mode, if I actually want to read whole paragraphs.
  • Ads cover up the actual news

    By Enjoyyourorange
I pay for an NY Times subscription, but I’m getting ads that cover up the content I’m paying to read.
  • Please hide the Home Indicator when viewing articles!

    By Chikiro
I love NYTimes, but I really really wish that this app would hide the Home Indicator bar for iPhone X/Xs when viewing articles.
  • I once loved the app

    By lalakimme
I realize that ads are necessary, but the content of an article now jumps all over the place or is frozen due to ads that need to load. Reading on the subway is nearly impossible depending on the section you are reading. I use this app much less than I did in the past, which is a shame because I was once an avid reader. I also get weekend delivery because I still appreciate reading a physical newspaper.
  • Why the ads?

    By Restaurant fan
I can’t imagine why I would renew at over $130 per year and still be constantly bombarded by ads. Definitely NOT worth it.
  • How can I send you if you don’t accept it

    By Helen Forbes
    This is offensive
  • Version 8.4.0 is unstable

    By SomeHapaGuy
Version 8.4.0 is very unstable and crashes every few minutes.
  • I hate the ads on the app

    By Sukhi.jmtc
I'm a new subscriber, and also a millennial who wants to support the NYT but having ads after every paragraph is just unbearable and completely ruined my experience.
  • Bug and design problems.

Stories take forever to load, despite having refreshed the entire paper. App freezes frequently when scrolling down in a story. Switching out of the app when I’m in the middle of a story, and then switching back in a minute later, loses my place in the story—in fact, it loses the story all together—and instead goes back to the “home page” (top stories). The Times can’t do better than this?
