iTrans NYC Subway App Reviews

  • Where did you go?

    By Diana2366
This was an app that I used nearly every day to check for delays...until a week ago when it suddenly stopped updating. Upon investigation it seems that this app is no longer supported and therefore no longer works. I will miss you! Please come back. This app was a solid 4/5 stars for me when it was running.
  • Not working

    By Ciccioselligrassa
I had this app for two years and I found it pretty reliable but now it has not been working for over a week. No updates or notice.
  • Alerts not syncing (Updated Review)

    By CLTguy5
The alerts haven't synced for a week or more. I wonder if this app is being supported. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried on wifi and cellular and the result is the same.
  • Sometimes great, pretty useless now

    By Trotskymeister
Push alerts don’t work. Subway status updates from the MTA are broken. App basically is pointless. OH YEAH and the app developer’s email address is broken so they can’t even be reached.
  • No longer updating

    By KatieNYC
Sad! Loved this app! Clearly not even being updated anymore. Refund plz!
  • Seems to have been abandoned

    By AEWillett
It’s a shame — this was once an indispensable app for NYC transit planning. It has recently stopped being able to give directions to a destination, though: it kicks out an “unable to route” error. Emails to the support address can’t be delivered, and gmail tells me that there’s “insufficient system storage,” suggesting that the inbox, if not the mail server, has filled up. There’s no explanation on the developers’ website — I get the feeling that they have walked away from the product.
  • Stop working

    By Swaqq2offical15
As soon as 2018 started, this app hasn’t been functioning, doesn’t show times of when trains are arriving.
  • Looks like it's been abandoned

    By Droppin NYC
More than a week without alert updates (when it would have been helpful), stories of emails sent to support rejected... sounds like someone just decided they made their $$ on what was the best subway map program and split. Will probably be a great map to use for a few more months, but I'm shaking my head - I feel suckered.
  • Does this app still work?

    By Rangerx_
Update: I emailed iTrans asking as to what’s going on. My email was returned as undeliverable. I guess they’re done. It’s a shame because iTrans NYC had functionality which I can’t find anywhere else. Previous review: As of today all trains are marked as out of service, and it certainly is not the case. The app is unusable as it stands.

This app has been amazing in years past, but it hasn’t seen a major update in a very long time and seems to currently be broken. Emails to the support address are now bouncing, and it appears the server that runs their service diversion alerts is offline as well. For $4 this is still a decent navigation app, but some core features are broken and I wouldn't hold my breath about them being fixed. I tried to report this to iTunes, but they don't much of a system in place for reporting broken apps.
