  • Bonehead Move!

TAG buys killer golf app, takes away some of it’s best features & doubles the price to $40. In a day and age when apps live and die by user reviews, how does this approach make any sense? Make it better and go to $24.99 so the Fun Golf faithful bless the move. Make it even better down the road and get to $29.99 if you must..... then STOP! Had you taken this approach you’d have almost all 5 star reviews and me and many others, subscribers for life! Lastly, you should have called it “Fun Golf by TAG Heuer” Who is making your decisions? I am available for consulting if you ever decide you want to put out a great product at a fair price and build a loyal following.
  • Just an ok golf app

I tried a number of iOS and watch golf apps and this one is not all that great. Can’t do much with the watch other than distance to green. Hazards, layups, etc. are not available on the watch. The app also picks up adjacent holes so you have to go in and select the right hole. Also, one huge issue was I used the Apple Watch GPS in my league play last night and even after I ended the round, the app kept launching on my Apple Watch. As I said, I’ve tried a number of these golf gps apps and frankly, they are all lacking. I probably going to purchase a stand-alone, hand held device and stop continuing to pay subscription fees. Just not worth it.
  • App works but big battery draw.

The app works but has a little trouble finding the course. You have to start the app on the phone before you can use an Apple Watch. It’s also not easy to change holes. The watch version uses much more battery than the Fun golf app that preceded the current version. Is this because it uses the watch GPS instead of the iPhones ? Once the app is working the watch version is excellent. With dual ways to measure distances it seems accurate and quick.
  • No longer a great app

Fun Golf used to be an outstanding app. That is no longer the case since Tag Heuer took over the app. The watch app shuts down multiple times a round and it doesn’t want to open with the watch. I purchased the upgrade because I like the Fun Golf app so much. This is a very disappointing app, especially since Tag Heuer is a renowned name in watches. I have owned their watches for over 40 years. This app is a joke.
  • Can’t Tap Screen to Get Yardages in This Version

This golf app used to be Fun Golf, before Tag Heuer took it over. It was a GREAT app and I loved it with my Apple Watch. However, since Tag Heuer took it over, they eliminated the 2D and Satellite views of each hole and just kept the 3D view. The problem with the 3D view is that you cannot tap the screen to see yardages. Yes, they show you yardages to all the hazards and the front of the green, etc. but what if I want to know how far to hit a layup shot or how far it is to a dogleg or how far it is to a house? You cannot touch the screen and see that. I don’t know why they eliminated the satellite view - it was extremely helpful to see actual trees, houses, etc. There are too many golf apps out there that have this feature. I won’t be renewing my subscription to this one.
  • Great app. Couple changes needed

I love the app. It is hands down the best watch/app combo out there. The subscription price is a little steep but a lot less than buying a separate gps watch that only does golf. Also golf is just expensive so I get it. Couple improvements that would be nice: 1. Ability to edit the club that was recorded. Sometimes it defaults to a different club & you don’t notice it until after you hit record. Would be nice to be able to change it so the data is more accurate. 2. Adding shape shots on the map between scored shots would be nice. For example It could be simple a)low (punch) b)normal c)high & then display that arc between the two marked balls. Helps when going back to remember exactly what you did on certain holes.
  • Bring Back “Round Recaps”

First off, this is the best golf app for iphone and/or Apple Watch—period. The new update makes it look more polished and professional but one of the best parts of the app is now missing: Round Recaps. My friends and I loved getting to look at all the data of each player summed up on one page, it was perfect and really helped me analyze my rounds. Being able to save it as an image and text it was great too—everyone I played with downloaded this app after receiving the recaps from me. But now with the update—you have to click each tab to see each section of data one at a time, it’s annoying and makes me miss the old version. Please bring it back! -Spence

Last year I could almost get 2 rounds on a full charge. Now I’m at 10% after one round. What could have possible changed so much for the worse???
  • Still “Fun”

So I’ve edited my previous review because I did finally learn how to purchase the premium features. I was a “monthly” premium user with fun golf, but decided to purchase the yearly subscription with Tag. It is a bit over priced, but a good app non the less. I’m a real golfer and competent Apple Watch/Phone user. User experience on this app is still very good and nearly identical to fun golf. My favorite feature is scrolling to any distance on a hole via the watch crown. Fantastic. The phone app gives you more detailed view of the hole and distances. The shot scoring feature is nice but there is one huge gap. No handicap calculation. No point in keeping all my scores if it won’t calculate my handicap. Don’t listen to the other reviewers that obviously have a gripe. This is a very good golf watch app that can completely replace a dedicated gps watch or range finder. It’s very stable with a reliable signal. I’ve had no issues thus far. - honest reviewer

Your date picker is off by one Calendar day when creating an account. 40 dollars a year is steep, make a lifetime subscription and I’d consider using this on my watch.
