  • App Always Crashes

Since the update, this app has been horrible. Crashed very frequently. I've sent stack trace to Apple/Microsoft at least 5 times now to try to help but the lack of any movement on a fix is frustrating. I rely on this app for my job, and while free, it's a shame that there were so many bugs introduced. Please update the app so that I may re-review. Thanks
  • Issues with Ports

There seems to be an issues with the ports that are used via and rd gateway. RDP 10 isn't forcing all traffic over 443 when connecting to a gateway. It looks like some traffic is going over 3391, especially when using the RDP part of remote desktop. This will not work in alot of environments that block those ports incoming and outgoing. There is also a security risk to having those ports open. Things seem to work fine using RDP 8. When do you think we will see a fix for this?1
  • Great so far.

This app runs well, and does what it claims. BUT You can only connect to a computer that uses the default RDP port. If you have 2 different computers on the same network, and have adjusted all of the necessary settings for the secondary (and so on) computers RDP listening port to be anything other than 3389, you simply cannot conect outside of your network. So the only way I have found (other than using a 3rd party app) to remote into more than one computer on a network is to remote into the computer on port 3389, then from that computer remote to the other computer on the network you wish to control. This seems absolutely INSANE to me that this feature is not available. The devolopo (Microsoft) contacted me about this review advising "how to change the port with a colon in the the URL, WHICH DOES NOT WORK! But works just fine in RD8.
  • A Bug-Ridden Monstrosity

...even by today's standards. There are numerous long-standing bugs in version 10. As one example, it just took me no less than 25 connection attempts to connect to an updated Windows 10 machine sitting just a few feet away from me (over Ethernet no less). Most attempts simply result in a black screen, which never resolves and produces no error message. Other times I get an endlessly spinning Windows cursor (setting up desktop, or something like that), which, again, never resolves. There is also a long-standing issue with the "Optimize for Retina diplays" option. The display frequently switches back-and-forth between low and hi-res, often requiring a resize to kick the client into hi-res mode. Returning from sleep is also broken at least half the time. When doing so, I often see a black screen, which never resolves. Forcing a resize occassionally resets the display. Finally, in the latest version, the RDP window has an odd tendency to jump between displays, and since they are different sizes, this forces a resolution and resizing, which takes a great deal of time. I've reported these issues over the years through the built-in feedback tool, and I'm unaware of any other way to report them. Nevertheless, and despite leaving an email address, I never hear back, and the issues have yet to be resolved. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of any third-party competition, but the team working on this should seriously consider adding some tests and stepping up their QA game. This is embarrassing.

I found the application very useful to access Windows Server remotely. I encoutered a single problem that I was not able to solve; how to access my local folders on Mac. I think this functionality is strictly restricted to WIN 10 RD application.

The latest update does not connect with multiple monitors. The screen simply goes black and cannot connect. Now I am unable to remote into any of the windows machines. I have reported the error multiple times, but support has not responded
