  • New player experience

    By Kal-El2920
You can either be chosen to be in a group that gives you bonus gold and is directly game effecting, or be put in a group without it. It is actually unfair, and I will not spend a dime more on the micro transaction store until accounts that were hosed are given access to that gold, or the equivalent in “power cores”. This is beyond appalling to me that the devs would include a system like this to secretly encourage some players to spend more, and others to have an advantage against them if they don’t. I downloaded before finding this out, so both of my accounts (Android and Apple) will remain free to play. And that is only because the gameplay is fun for a mobile game to kill time at work. Poor form FoxNext!!!
  • No sound

After playing for a month the game froze. I rebooted and the sound never came back. still a fun game but i dont want to reinstall when the devs should fix the dound issues
  • Great game with one HUGE complaint

    By kjhukhseafukhhkuseagukh
I love this game but would really like a way to pause when in a timed battle. There are times when I might need to step away for a second or minute and it would be nice to have a pause option. Please help!
  • The most awesomeness marvel game

The base or core game here is good the problem you will often run into though is that the power cores to unlock things are few and far between. For the best result and most fun with this app play it once a day at most or you will run out of energy quickly and then burn power cores the in game currency for acquiring most shards. The reason I say do not spend money on this game is because outside of the offers that you are mercilessly bludgeoned with after each login if you spend money you get a packet with random loot, mostly green useless items or shards for the same characters you could unlock through a few days of campaign and this is consistent with all of the orb packs in here. Might have only lost out on $10.00 but it was literally something I immediately regretted after seeing the money used in a manner where I feel like throwing it out the window would have given me more return on my investment.
  • Lots of potential (updated 6.23.17)

    By Mdwolf23
My second review stills sums this game up in my opinion. This game has a lot of potential. It is quite fun, the art is cool, and the game has substance to it. Some of my favorites characters are easily attainable- Spider-Man and Wolverine. Others are locked from obtaining by craziness- such as BP (orbs only, which work by random chance, not worth spending real money on a roll), Iron Man (unattainable at this time), and CA (end of a very hard campaign in which I am stuck and have to gear up to progress). Captain America was obtainable for a short time (48 hours?) through a new player pack for $9.99, but this option disappears. After several weeks, and now that I would be willing to support the game with a few dollars, the option to purchase is no longer available. This to me is bad business- why not just make the offer permanent as an option? Other than this, there are some glaring issues with the game as it stands. First is the noted power gap between beta players and launch players. This power gap continues to grow daily, especially with the current low drop rates for character shards and gear. It is annoying to burn through 120 energy and receive 1/2 of a needed item for an upgrade in a single slot. I am not taking about the really rare stuff either, but the material needed to upgrade gear from level 4 to level 5. While beta players experience the same drop rate, they already have significantly more characters and upgrades already available to them. Update after Thanos event: the Devs gave 15 free shards on top of the legendary event and raids. Really great and very thoughtful. Update after Deadpool event: the Devs made terrific raids and were generous on rewards. This was an amazing event and fun to play! I enjoyed it. On a good note, the campaign is fun, events are generous and fun, daily challenges are nice, and instant access to an auto-win option after a 3-star completion is wonderful. A decent line-up is possible to acquire over time totally free. Recently, mega orbs were added, which give premium character shards! Totally awesome. The Devs have thoughtfully applied this as reward for low ranking Blitz players. They then replayed the same Blitz event with decent amounts of character shards for Vision. Devs are really starting to plan well! Unfortunately, the in-app purchases are truly lackluster due to the way the orbs work- simply not enough value for the money. Absence of being able to buy “premium” characters straight out for $5.00-$10.00 each is quite an oversight in my opinion. The absence of a “monthly subscription” option to acquire power cores ($5.00/mo for 175-225 cores daily or something) is another oversight, in my opinion. As of today, I am still looking for a place to spend money on reasonable deals- like mega orbs or a character for $9.99 or so. I really want to support the game, but still no reasonable way to do it in my opinion. I still agree with the above, now with a major complaint. The “gold gate” fiasco is crazy. The Devs gave certain new players 500% increased gold rewards on two, simple daily objectives. This amount of gold creates a VAST difference over the period of a month. As a near-launch player, gold is the biggest bottleneck (one of two) in terms of increasing power. I am constantly gold starved. Second, players are asked to spend real money on the gold the new players would obtain in 3 days time. Crazy ness. It doesn’t affect my casual enjoyment of the game, but does increase the sense that I will never be on the same power-level or platform as whales, beta-players, and now a random selection of newcomers (not everyone) who are already passing me by because I was not of the chosen. I still think this game has a lot of potential, and it is quite fun. But thoughtfulness and kindness is development and marketing practices and communal relations would go along way. I do want the company to make money, but their offers are still horrible and customer treatment through giving random individuals extras is not fun for those who miss out. I would have increased the stars to a 5 because I enjoy the game a lot. Alas, recent developments leave the game at a shaky 4 stars, and I am not sure I would recommend the game due to the treatment of players.
  • Unfair business practices

    By Jmbmd68
I’ve been playing the game since it was launched worldwide and I really like the gameplay. However, I cannot recommend the game at this time. The developers have been using A/B type offers (different offers to different players) and it has really gone to extremes. Unknown to much of the player base, a subset of players has been getting a large amount of an in-game resource (gold) just for logging in and completing a few tasks. Gold is absolutely necessary for progression. Many, many other players have been paying real money to get what this subset is getting for free. Worse, the developers have not really responded in any coordinated fashion to the concerns that have been raised. I have stopped paying, and will likely stop playing until this is addressed (if ever) in some kind of meaningful way.

Really want to play this. Please add 4th gen support for iPad. I'll bump rating up if you do.

Marvel Strike Force refuses to disclose the drop rate % of their character shards, even those Apple has made it a requirement by Law to disclose drop rate %’s. Simple reason is the game is developed with a specific algorithm to deliberately cause you to get 0 shards over the course of multiple days worth of farming. Even after contacting the in game customer support; they responded with “we don’t know the character shard drop rate,” which is a bold face lie. They just don’t want to disclose it because there would be an uproar amongst the community with the shady game development practice that was implemented. Marvel Strike Force is nothing more than an unethical game using the “Marvel” name.
