  • Protect Your Skin from Harmful UV!👍🏼

    By phillyflyer58
Came across UVI Mate app as part of a television review of “must have” summer products. The app is not only visually appealing, it’s also easy to use and provides one with tips and reminders regarding protecting oneself from harmful UV! Well done, guys!

I actually liked the app until it charged me $10 to get the full version! The app indicated that the charge would be $2!! I'm very disinterested and disappointed.
  • Red Flags

Software advertises 1.99 to upgrade but then the charge is 9.99 or at least it is in the United States. Looking for more info reveals a suspended Twitter account.
  • What does clouds on/off mean

    By Savy is too cool
The app won’t show me what the cloud thing means and also I said that I don’t want to be reminded to put sunscreen on yet I got the notifications anyway😒
  • Misleading App.

At first I thought this app was really cool but then I realized if you wanted to see anything but an hour in advance and most other options you had to pay for the pro version. (Most of these options are free on similar apps.) When prompted to get the pro version it said it was 1.99$ so I figured I’d try it for the heck of it. What I didn’t realize is that the 1.99$ was not the actual amount and I was charged $10.00. I didn’t mind spending a couple dollars but $10 for something I could have gotten with a free app is a little ridiculous.
  • Awesome app when it works

App opens and immediately crashes. Other than that its great 😂
  • Beautiful, relevant, but annoying alerts

    By Johnny Anonymous
Overall, 4/5 rating. This app is off to a great start with a beautiful UI design and highly relevant information. It just needs minor backend adjustments to be a truly great, daily-use app. Great info and excellent interface design. However, there is a very annoying functional issue. If you don’t grant it permission to use your location then every time you launch the app it will flash an alert message warning you it doesn’t have location permissions. EVERY. TIME. That is terrible. Additionally, when I dismiss that alert, the app fails to automatically update and instead tells me it is offline. When I tap to manually initiate an update, it will then successfully update using the last known location and once again be a useful app. Developer: Please do not predicate app functionality on having access to location data. If current location data is unavailable, the app should fallback to using the last known location and continue to function normally. It should not fail and require a manually-initiated refresh. Please do not ever use a warning alert that prevents use of your app. That’s hostile to your users and, more importantly, prevents people from using your app. Why would you do anything that stops people from being able to use your app? The purpose of an app is to be used. Find a less intrusive way to let users know the app doesn’t have location permissions. Better yet, ask one time upon initial setup and if the user doesn’t give permission then let it go and don’t ask again. This app is off to a great start and it’s 90% there. This is already my preferred UV app despite its frustrating issues. It’s obvious the developer put forth serious effort and thoughtful design. Hoping for some minor fixes so I can see it be a truly great app.

  • Updated !

    By Dennis1701
My original review was one star. App just updated. Now it’s great. Very happy. Pressing the sun tan lotion crashes the app. I purchased the app for iwatch, it would be nice to perhaps have a second screen that shows sun rise and sun set. By the way I also use the app for monitoring by potential solar panel output for the day. I like the app but obviously the crashing has to be fixed and adding the sun set/rise would be five stars for me. Now the watch part of the app is no longer updating. Update 2019. The app on the watch still does not update. Looks like the app has been abandoned.
