YouTube TV App Reviews

  • Priced out of Competition

When Toutube Tv Was first introduced, it was priced at $35, which was a good deal. Shortly after they increased the price to $40. Just recently, they announced an increase to $50, but with additional channels. The problem is YouTube Tv was ideal for cord cutters. The DVR function was a plus. But at $50, it now costs more than my cable tv subscription. Plus, the DVR isn’t always a true DVR. There are certain shows that only give you an option of a VOD feed with commercials that can’t be skipped. At the end of the day YouTube Tv now costs more than my cable subscription with a TiVo. I’ll be canceling when my current cycle is over.
  • Good App & Service, But Cost is Getting High...

    By SoKool71
Really loved YouTube TV for what it was, and only really needed hgtv for the wife to make it perfect. But now that it’s going up to $50/mo even for us early adopters it’s not the best option out there. The reason we got away from cable was all the bloat. 275 channels for $140 was ridiculous. $35 for 50 channels, perfect. Now we’re getting all kinds of channels we don’t want, the cost is going up, and we’re getting back to cable country. Ughh, just when we thought we had something worthwhile we see it was just a bait and switch. We should be able to choose channels we want/don’t want and not have to pay for stuff we’ll never use. Time to look elsewhere again. ;(
  • Pauses live streaming randomly and repeats the same segment on iOS

    By futbolista1027
80-90 % of the time, I watch YouTube TV on iOS while I am at work. I just let MSNBC play on my iPad and just listen while I work. Occasionally I look at the actual footage but during the day, for some reason the live streaming stops and when I notice it, my iPad is sleeping. So I have to go out of the channel and select the channel again to live stream. Another issue I see is sometimes rather than playing the live stream, it replays the segment I have already watched. Please fix this. Also, please make it easier to get to your recorded shows. You have to hunt for them in order to get there. Update: The issue I stated above is still happening on iOS. My live streaming of MSNBC constantly goes back to previous programs that were shown before and I can’t keep watching the live stream. Also, they say that you have unlimited storage for DVR but they delete your shows after about 8 months or so. I am done with YouTube TV. I gave it a try but the experience has been less than ideal. Downgraded to 1 star.
  • Insanely buggy recently

Over the past week or so this app randomly jumps to previous hour recordings when watching live tv. It’s incredibly annoying. Please fix ASAP?

I’ve tryed every tv streaming service and this one was the best. With the channels it offers to the unlimited dvr space, it’s great. I see some people on here having some trouble with connection and stuff and I hate that but I’ve had it for a year with no problems, if you start having connection issues I would contact YouTube
  • Life altering

YouTube TV is what I have wanted since cutting the cord. I can watch all of the programs I want without paying fees, renting boxes, and dealing with challenging graphical user interfaces. YouTube TV is simple to use and works perfectly. Whether it’s watching live TV, sports, or using the amazing cloud-based DVR system, it just works exactly the way I have always hoped these services would. Simply great.
