    I’m a beginner and started at the beginning, as one does. The problem I have is the tuning, I have a tuner attached to my violin, it says the notes (open strings) are perfectly tuned (within reason), but the app thinks it knows better and will not let you advance until you hit their note. I have learned several instruments before and learning the fingering is more important than perfect form or delivery, but this app seems to disagree. I find myself sitting their plucking the same string just to get pasted the stupid ‘missed note’. Also say I am playing two D’s in a row, the first goes off no hitch, then without moving anything I go to play the second and it has me move my finger. If they say it’s a tempo thing then why does it stop scrolling all together, and completely disregarding the tempo? It would be better if it let you play all the way through then have you a grade at the end. Stopping every few seconds because of fat fingers and poor beginner technique is counter productive. If a band is playing a song and the guitar misses a beat or note does everyone stop and repeat the note till it’s perfect? Or do they move on and keep improving?

    I admit it, it’s a great app, but there’s a problem. Sometimes I am on the right notes and it still won’t let me pass. I have like EXTREME anger issues and sometimes I even feel like throwing my violin or breaking something to release my anger. Anyway, please fix this problem. My fingers hurt from all the work so please fix it ;-;

    My ten year old just inherited a used violin and I thought we would try this app to see if he enjoyed learning, and let me tell you that the thoroughness of this app makes me sure he could get a good foundation on the violin. He played hot cross buns after learning two basic notes and that inspired a confidence to continue on with his lessons. Overall a brilliant app for violin players.

    You see, I haven’t actually gotten the chance to use the app due to a particular part in the beginning; just to sum this up, you cannot use the app with out paying the yearly fee of 120$ I mean, might as well not even let the person install the app without paying. Do not get me wrong, I have heard wonderful wonderful reviews; but still. Im too poor to afford that much money for a small hobby of mine.
  • It’a not a bad app

    It’s really a great app. It helps you immensely in terms of intonation and even rhythms. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t give you fingerings or give you the option of inputting your own fingerings. It’s a shame that they only let you play 500 notes before you have to pay for the app.
