Empower won’t link to my bank, and there is no option for customer service of any kind.
  • Need more banks to connect.

Needs more banks to connect to and needs a recurring transfer option. And need more upgrades it shouldn't take 5 days to transfer money.
  • Worst app ever.

I decide to try the app and deposit $50 in the savings to start off. Notice the balance would always show $0. Then I tried to transfer my money back over to my original account, I never received the $50 back. A huge rip off. Even tried to use the card at the atm, but the balance keep stating $0. This app was never up to date. This app is a scam. Do not download this app unless you want you money taken.

Update - Please read my previous review below! I have been trying to get REAL answers from these people but they just keep telling me if my money was actually transferred to Empower it will be refunded within 5 days....okay? So I’m just supposed to sit here waiting to see what happens??? It has been THREE weeks and I have not heard back from them even though I’m trying to contact them! They never tell me anything that will help me!!! I’m getting zero REAL answers from them!!! Previous Review - I transferred hundreds of dollars from my normal bank to my Empower savings account only for my Empower account to not show any money transferred despite the fact my bank says the transfer was completed. Their customer service has responded (albeit once a day) but they have not offered me ANY solutions. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK!!!

The app and products are well thought out, offering a good security and user experience. I enjoy that the banking card has additional features in the app such as the ability to lock/unlock the card for additional security. I asked Chase to add that to their products and they only added it to credit not debit, so I closed my account there. I originally downloaded this app to use for analysis of all my financial products, and it's very nice to see almost everything in one place.

I’m highly upset I went to withdraw money so I can pay my rent. Then after only being able to withdraw a certain amount my card was deactivated. Then I called a number I saw online and was speaking to someone and was hung up on. Afterwards I called back in an instant and all of a sudden no one was available and I was being asked to leave a voicemail. How is it that an app can never have no one to speak with available when you do find someone or when you try online a bit responds and says they respond usually within 2 hours. This is ridiculous and I will never be using this app or have any money direct deposited to this account again because it’s stupid.
  • App has so much potential ...

The app is great, except that its super buggy. Transactions from the empower checking card get removed from my overall balance but sometimes dont show and therefore arent added to my budgets. I cant seem to connect my card to venmo, and operators say theyre working on resolving it but have to time period estimated. I also cant link my account to other budgeting tools like mint, forcing me to try to guess on my goals ive created there. Its also frustrating creating new labels for the budgets, as i make one, close the app and reopen it to see my label has disappeared and its just a labeless purple square—and why cant i add lyft and uber as one budget? Lots of potential here but i feel this was released with a really unstable code base, which when its the only platform u provide to users, is a real bummer. I think the services as a bank however — 5 stars.
