UV Index Widget - Worldwide App Description

The UV Index app that has it all! UV Index Widget - Worldwide is a handy little app to check the current radiation level from the Sun (the UV Index), the highest UV Index forecast for today, and the forecasted UV Index for the next 7 days, anywhere on Earth. You can also add the UV Index to your Today Screen using the accompanying widget, set notifications for when the UV Radiation exceeds certain levels, and automatically add the UV levels to your Apple Health app. The app will instantly show the current UV Index (UVI) at your location in an intuitive way. Tap and hold to see the peak UV Index for today. You can also see when the Sun rises and sets, and at what time the UV Index is at its highest level. 7 day Forecast: The Forecast tab will show hour-by-hour UVI forecast for the next 7 days. Map: In the Map tab you can select any place on Earth to view the current UV radiation and 7-day forecast for that location. Handy when you are about to travel somewhere and want to get a heads up on the UV radiation level where you are going. Widget: The accompanying widget will show the same information on your Today screen. The widget also displays helpful tips in order to best protect yourself from harmful radiation from the sun. Notifications: The app can notify you when the UV Index goes above a certain level. Set the desired UV Index you wish to be notified about, and you will receive a notification if the UV Index at your location goes over this treshold. Apple Health app: The app will automatically store the hourly UV Index for your location in the Apple Health app. Open the Apple Health app to view your UV Exposure history. Apple Watch: You can now check the UV Index on your watch. Tap and hold to view todays peak UVI, just as in the iOS app. Or, check the UVI any time right on your favourite watch face, using the included UVI complications. The UVI complication also supports time travel, scroll the wheel to check the UVI any time of the day. The app will work anywhere in the world, and is a perfect companion whether you are at home or travelling. --- Information about UV Index Widget - Worldwide subscription: -At confirmation of purchase, or following the completion of a free-trial period, payment will be charged to your iTunes account. - Yearly subscriptions are available. - Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. - Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current subscription period. - Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. After this last update the app has flatlined . 2 bad there’s no other feedback mechanism than this review. Now I’ll be spending (how long?) coming up with an untaken nickname to get this posted
  • Haven’t even had the chance to try it

I genuinely think, at full working capacity, this app would be my godsend. I love the idea of an hourly forecast and push notifications for a customizable UV Index. And as a UX designer, it’s my opinion that this UI looks clean and intuitive, which I highly appreciate. However, the app doesn’t seem to recognize that I started my 3 day trial. The app store shows I’m subscribed, but the app is still blocking me from accessing premium options. I’d love to try out this app and base my rating off of my actual experience with it after this is resolved. Edit: It actually seems to be very inaccurate. The app said it was UV 6 when it was actually UV 8. That’s a large disparity. I think I’ll stick to the default weather app on my phone, unfortunately.
  • Was great...prior to 5.0 update

  • Good app but could be better

    By Poplover90
I just bought this app for the modular watch face. Very easy app to use. I had a slight problem getting it started and reflecting the UV index. But after sending a review to the developer, I received instructions on how to fix the problem. I am very happy to be able to use this and the features on the free version are wonderful. Thanks for the great customer service. If you are concerned about the UV when you go out I would recommend getting this app.
  • Great Help

As a malignant melanoma survivor, and an avid gardener, it’s important that I know the UV index so I can plan the times I can work outside. This app is a lifesaver - literally!
  • Loved this app until...

Been a long time user of this app. Loved it til it switched to a subscription. Not happening. Bye bye. I understand the need for subscriptions for some apps, such as this where you actually get something in return like hourly updates, or weather apps. But, if I didn’t draw a line somewhere I would be paying $49.99 a month in monthly subscription fees, and $39.99 a year in annual fees. $4.99 a month for a calendar app that only stores MY information on MY phone is obscene. So I have cut out all the apps that charge a fee. As long as there are still good apps in the world that aren’t going to the subscription model, I will continue to avoid them in the same way I avoid eating raw Marmot.
