Gboard App Description

Gboard is a new keyboard from Google for your iPhone. It has all the things you would expect from a great keyboard — GIFs, emojis, and Glide Typing — plus Google Search built in. No more app switching; just search and send, right from your keyboard. Search and send anything from Google: • Nearby stores and restaurants • Videos and images • Weather forecasts • News and articles • Sports scores • And anything else you’d search on Google GIFs — Search GIFs for the best reaction Emoji Search — Find the perfect emoji, faster Glide Typing — Type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter Privacy We know the things you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private. What Gboard sends to Google: • Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results. • Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes. • If you use Gboard’s microphone, voice input will be sent to Google for transcription. What Gboard doesn’t send to Google: • Other than your searches and voice inputs, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend. • To help you with spelling and to predict searches you might be interested in, Gboard will store the words you type on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps, and can be cleared at any time. • If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so you can easily share. None of these queries are sent to Google.

Gboard App Reviews

  • Great but

My biggest issue is the microphone disappears completely so I can not dictate when I need to. I love this keyboard but just has issues to where I can not make it my daily driver.
  • Keeps getting better

I absolutely love GBoard. It has so many useful features. Other keyboards can't compete! I especially love the ease of access to gifs.
  • Keyboard colors

I love the app and the whole swipe feature of the app but I wish I am able to change the color of the keyboard like I was able to before!

  • Doesn't remember conversation language

    By cromo647
Would be almost perfect if not for the fact that GBoard does not remember the language of the conversation in iMessage. This works with built-in keyboards. I guess the reason for this is that GBoard presents itself too the iOS as a single instance, so all iMessage can remember is that the GBoard is used for a conversation with particular contact, but not the actual language. Still, I wish Google found a way to fix this. EDIT: For some reason, it stopped showing up at all. Tried reinstalling, but nothing is helping. I can explicitly request it with the globe icon, still a native keyboard will show instead.
  • Love gboard

I love gboard. It is so easy to use. Just download the app and follow a few instructions and your keyboard has everything Google. You can just press the Google icon on the keyboard to search Google. Love it
  • Needs voice to text that doesn't go to google.

I don't like when I go to do voice to text and it launches the google app.
  • Fantastic

Except no options for cussing 😉
  • No multilingual support

    By T3kzero
It is inconvenient when you have to switch languages within a conversation. Other apps like swift key have had this feature for a very long time, even apple's stock keyboard does it too. Going back to swift key
  • Dot key disappears in different apps

    By p1uskid
Mostly minor issues, but minor issues decide the choices when all the competitors are quite good. In some apps, the dot key to the right of space bar for fast symbol typing disappear. The inconsistent behaviors is quite annoying. Also the symbols are very limited, apart from those showing on the key, you cannot type others. For example, you cannot type "greater than" symbol when in Chinese mode.
