The New Yorker Today App Description

The New Yorker Today app is the best way to stay on top of news and culture every day, and the magazine each week. Features: • Get a daily blend of in-depth reporting, political commentary, cultural criticism, and humor from the website. • Read each week’s magazine and browse past issues. • Receive alerts on breaking-news coverage by your favorite New Yorker writers and notifications about major pieces in the magazine. • Flip through a nearly endless supply of New Yorker cartoons using the Cartoon Randomizer tab • Access The New Yorker Sticker Pack: download the app, add the extension to iMessage, and liven up your texts with Christoph Niemann’s signature drawings and animations of city life • Read articles offline and bookmark long reads to finish later The app is free to download. Subscribers receive unlimited access. Non-subscribers may access a limited number of articles each month. Most current New Yorker subscribers have unlimited access to the app as part of their existing subscription. Subscribers with a print-only subscription may not have unlimited access. Users who have trouble accessing unlimited stories, or who wish to upgrade their access level may call Customer Service at 1-800-967-2082. All users have unlimited access to the Cartoon Randomizer, which does not count toward the article limit for non-subscribers. All users have unlimited access to the Sticker Pack, which is free to download and requires iOS 10 or above. A subscription costs $8.99 a month or $89.99 annually, and includes a 30-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. The New Yorker Today app requires iOS 9 or above. The New Yorker Today App Reviews

  • Why does this sign in problem persist?

After seeing SO many reviewers mention the exact problem I have been having for years with the New Yorker app...I had finally got it working but it only can download the whole magazine. So when I get headers in emails FROM THE NEW YORKER- for great intriguing articles the NYorker offers - and I want to read I manage to get this New Yorker Today app in hopes that the endless sign in - you’re signed in- Loop would end, but no. And then I learn that everyone else is/has been telling you the same thing since 2018? As a loyal New Yorkerian, I have to believe this is some ghastly oversight. Surely you don’t intend to publicly display incompetent programming? Or ineffective responsiveness over such a long period of time? In short, what’s the deal?
  • Useless

I’ve been reading the New Yorker on my iPad for months. No problems until recently. Now each week I wonder whether the magazine will appear or not. Again this week the magazine is nowhere to be found. Love the New Yorker, hate this app.

There is no search function by article title. This app is pretty useless without a title search function.
  • Just what’s needed

This is a clean, lightweight app that does what it needs to do reliably and well. It presents articles appealingly. You can close out at any point within an article and the app will take you back to that spot when you reopen it. Well done.

What good is a New Yorker app if you can’t read the magazine? Hope this issue gets fixed soon
  • Crashes immediately

I was so excited to see that the New Yorker has a new app, and I was hoping it was going to work better than the last one I tried. Unfortunately things still seem to be screwed up. As soon as I touch “magazine” at the bottom of the page the app crashes.

And even though I am “signed in”.....I’ve tried everything ten times, and get no response from the magazine when I write for help. Very frustrated, ready to cancel my long time subscription.

Still a very glitchy app. Hopefully they’ll hire someone with some expertise. Soon.
  • Does not recognize me as a paid subscriber

Keeps crashing since they added animated GIFs to stories. am paid up in full for $149 a year yet this app continues to ask me to “subscribe” even after I am signed in with my normal username and password. Calls to customer service have not resolved this.
